XrSist, you can pick up a 13 inch Focal from as little as $585

So, not as unaffordable as you would expect....

And, I have just decided that all skylines australia members can have 10% discount. How does that grab ya?

ive used about 50 kgs of sound deadining in my 33, I used the tar matting from fusion and heaps of dacron (that fluffly white material that the line the inside of sub boxes with - i think thats its name anyway). As its non turb's :D:mad: (i know i know) weight wasnt really and issue so i spent about 3 days doing the whole interior/boot and all. It ended up costing about $350-$400, but now i see it as money well spent. It took ages, but the difference is incrediable, now i can hear hardly any road noise, and the car is quiet as (except for the exhaust which is f#$king loud - not a bad thing tho).

I got pics of the whole process it you want to see it go to http://members.cardomain.com/crazyfcuk

As for subs, i recommend you listen to either subs from the powerplant or johah lomu series, ive used Fusion gear for 3-4 years now and swear by it. Admittly Fusion gear was pretty average when it first came out but now all there gear rocks.

Id highly recomend it to anybody. and after going through about 9 different setups in my old car using fusion gear. I rate it as high as any other. My new setup (2x 15", 3x1000 watt amps, 2x1 farad amps etc...) runs hard, is crystal clear, and goes all day long.

Anyway just my 2 cents worth hope its some if any use to ya.

:burnout:

Thats one f*&ken sweet setup you got there.. If only i could

weight didn't matter.. 50kg of sound deadener. I assume you

did the doors and roof also?

I've been told FUSION subs are excellent, one company i'm yet

to look up on.

How did you do the bootlid? I've seen very dodgy and excellent

jobs done on this.

im still to finish the top of the boot, so far i used shellys space invader to seal up the gaps, and silicone to stop the boot from vibrating. Im in the process of making a custom molded vinal covered trim plate to fit over the whole of the boot lid at the moment, I am going to include a system diagram in the middle, and might put a set of 6 1/2" co-axils in as well (one either side of the system diagram) for a better sound outside the car for when its at shows etc, and when i take the car away, so i can use it to crank up sounds and still have the car closed. I'm going to try and make a switch (fitted somewhere inside the boot so that i dont have to adjust the headunit every time i want to do it)so that i can turn off all the speakers inside the car, and have only the ones in the boot running, Check back at the site soon and ill post some pics when i finish it.

just photoshop.

btw most of that **** is audiobahn.. that stuff rocks

helllloooooo 1100wrms SQ sub!

ive got the other model numbers somewhere, i cant remember em hehe.. audio system is like last on my list..

gotta get car first, and then do the engine, then the wheels, then the bodykit.. etc :D

then ill spend big on stereo

better to get it right the first time and buy quality stuff rather than buy cheap **** and replace it every 8 months.

Yes, there is a 4 model line up, and the bottom of the range has just been replaced by a range called the ACCESS line. The baskets are made of a mix of fibeglass and ABS! Pretty awesome stuff and cheaper too!

i am in Tasmania, but that is no problem a bit of freight will not fix....

I agree with ultim8DTM5, they work alright, but outright the dynamat is far better, and it goes on much neater, and looks better when its finished.

All it does is add extra mass to the existing structure thus dampening out sound vibrations, if your going to use some thing that you want to spray on, id recommend some sort of space invader (i think it works out cheaper as well, but dont quote me). I dont know if you guys have Shellys products over there but if you do try theirs. Its messy as to work with but it does the trick for hard to reach places (in the boot lid in those little gaps between the support and the sheet metal). And achieves the same end result.

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
