Have read the Supp Regs closely and nowhere can I see that Driver Training is mandatory for 1st time track users, although I do beleive it is encouraged and well worth doing.

That being said, if you would like to discuss Driver Training further you can email Lyn (the WRX Club Motorsport Director) on [email protected] or call after hours on 0409 183 513.

If you want to do the driver training, you only have to pay the entry fee for driver training, not both, so for a driver trainer it is $120. You don't get timed in DT, which makes it cheaper.

Personally those that i have doen DT with as long as they are using the right basic lines and not overdriving the car...AND most importantly using their mirrors and are aware of the other traffic around them. The i dont see a problem with suggesting they are right to go out and do the final 1-2 times sessions

The winton fundays are a good way to get a bit of track experience, although there are a lot of cars on the track, too many in my opinion.

..but still gives you a bit of track time none the less.

Note too that SAU Championship classes and rules will be made clear after the committee meeting next week.

Hey,

Im pretty new to Club Race meets, could I have information on regulations to put my car on the track with the SAu, I've been reading through the blogs and other sites through the SAU blog. Any help with getting my car on the track, either curcuit time trails and drags will greatly appreciated. My email address is [email protected].

Also, on the 12th Friday Jan, 2007 I will be heading down to Calder for my first Drag night to see what I can pull down the quarters. If anyone else who will be attending I own a Maroon R33 GTR.

Thanks Damien

Hi Damien and welcome to the club!!!

If you want to attend some of the Sau/WRX track days it might be a start in reading the supp reggs in the first post which outlines a lot of the requirements for the car and driver...

Alternatively there are numerous threads getting around explaining what's needed in getting 'track ready'...

You can also PM Scotsman (Chris) if you have any questions, he's the motorsport director for SAU, I'm sure he can steer you in the right direction (he's a very good steerer!!! :( )

Cheers,

Guest
