Hey all,

Im getting an Apexi Power FC + hand controller for my R34 GTT in a week or so when it arrives and i had some questions about it before i install it...

Firstly, ill let you know what perofmance mods my car has to help answer my questions:

- Air pod filter

- Stock exhaust system with new cat and res, along with nismo sports muffler

- Greddy electronic boost controller

- HKS 600x300x76mm FMIC

Before i install and tune the PFC, i was thinking of getting a Z32, slightly larger injectors, fuel pump and exhaust...

I want to run 14psi (1 bar) as a daily driver and wasnt sure if the injectors would cope or not, and if a Z32 is REALLY required and would benefit my setup at all... otherwise ill only upgrade the exhaust to an XFORCE 3.5" system only and not worry about Z32, injectors, and fuel pump...

Will the stock turbo be fine running 14psi daily?

Has anyone had any problems AFTER installing a PFC onto an R34 GTT???

Any help is very much appreciated!!!!

Thanks. :)

A friend of mine just had a power fc installed and tuned to his GTT.He has only a zorst and panel filter.Still a very quick car.I would leave the Z32 AFM and injectors and focus on the exhaust.Turbo back exhaust is a must. And its unsafe to run any more boost than stock on a standard system.Get that and a boost controller set to 9-10psi and get it tuned and i can safely say you will have a much quicker car that you have now.

I'd be interested to see your results without putting an exhaust on there but I wouldn't recommend it.

Also I blew my turbo at 12psi or so as have plenty of people I know. My rule of thumb for the R34 is 12 psi on the street and 10psi on the track.

To confirm, zorst, pfc, tune, done.

This wouldn't happen to be the one you bought off slide like I did? :)

Will watch this thread closely as I am in similar situation.

I'm leaning towards HITMAN in penrith to do mine as he is literally down the road from my work

    • Ah yeah I forget we aren't talking about an RB.
    • Fellow ADHDer to fellow ADHDer; Don't chase that paint perfection. Paint the bumpers, and put them on.  Leave the respray for another day. Plus, no one is going to see those old areas above. Any spots of surface rust, give them a clean up, prime, then hit with a white paint just to protect them from rusting. Again, no one can see it.   #Mine hasn't been on the road since 2011 cause ADHD... I've slowly learned not to keep f**king with shit if I don't need to...
    • That would be interested if it's the case as seems like it would make the job a lot messier but subaru sells OEM gaskets so seems it might of had it.
    • Fuel tank is out. Looks pretty bloody good under (ie above) the fuel tank.  Amazing how good the factory e-coat holds up in the hidden areas.  No where near as much body deadener to get rid of as the front but still not looking forward to it!  Shit of a job.  I'm thinking I might grab a needle scaler and give that a go before I attack it with the angle grinder and wire wheel which is how I did the front 2/3's of the car.  Feels good to be working on the car again but who knows how long it will last!  Hopefully I can get it further forward than where it was prior to this last block of work when I decided to go back 10 steps further down the rabbit hole from where i already was! The problem is, I'm realising how hard it will be to repair and paint the bumpers, which cannot be put back on the car, and have a good paint match. There are also areas where it would be VERY hard to hide the new paint where it transitions from old paint. Like this- There is only one way to do that perfectly and I really dont want to have to do what that means I would have to do... 🤦‍♂️
    • Pretty sure the factory assembly doesn't have any gasket at all, just RTV.
