At our first feildcraft lesson they produce this "A" Ration pack (I think it was A anyway) and setup the polly pills and "feild stove" burning, put on a cups canteen full of water to boil, pull out a ticktack out of a small plastic bag in the ratpack and drop it in, wait 2 mins then pull out this soft boiled egg, give it to one of the recruits to eat much to our amazement.

Then they say that the dehidrated egg is only part of A ratpacks and is only for non-recruits. Tards.

Must of taken them ages to get that one right! Hahahaha

And why does that exclude reservists?

What have you done and what position are you in to demean our service? I have done 2 and a half years in the military, and for the past year and a half have been posted to a ARA unit which is very keen on making us work just as hard, and keep up to training, AIRN, fitness etc as the ARA members of my unit.

From what I have read you know very f**king little about the army and should shut the f**k up, unless you can proove you have any real decent service behind you.

Oh, if you can buy:

2x Boots (im up to my 4th pair now and have yet to pay for any of them)

1x Highshines

1x After5's

8x DPCU

2x Pollies

2x Brass

2x Slouch Hat

10x Bush Hat

1x Webbing

1x Pack

for 50 bucks then your the worlds best f**king barginer.

haha, that's gold.. one of my mates at the school of sigs scored himself a set of pips from the clothing store and used to walk into the new recruits who'd arrived straight out of kapooka's bedrooms and go nuts at them, some of the funniest facial expressions i've ever seen in my life, you don't realise how much bullshit they put you through until 6 or so months down the track and you take the time to look back

yeah actually that reminds me we got that - but we were fed bullshit about having to keep these as proof that we'd been out bush to recieve our bush pay, kind of wish i could go back to kapooka as an RI maybe for 3 months to pull some of that stupid shit. Maaan when I first got there I was in 11 platoon, bravo, was sidesquadded along with half the platoon for administritive reasons after 3 days into 26 platoon (thank god, the RI's were so much better in 26) and half of 25/26 was shifted into 11 platoon as there were alot of commando direct applicants (Including one former yanky ranger who had moved over here after marrying a local girl - they *loved* him.). 11 platoon got smashed from there in, but thats besides the point...

In my breif time in 11 there was this one corperal (spelling...), a chick, who I swear had a dick. She could probably shoot planes down with her lungs alone, my god could that woman yell in the most loudest and most annoying fashion concieveable. Everywhere she went she marched as if she was on a god-given mission to save the human race, and her additude towards women was.... Worse then most rapists. 11 Platoon was an all men platoon and it was *her* that pushed to have all the touchy feely politcally correct non-sexist shit removed from the platoon and from the lines. These days down there when you go on parade, the last guy on parade doesnt yell last man anymore, its last person. She was keen to ditch that in an all-male platoon. Another time she told a recruit if he was going to knock on a door, dont slap it like hed slap a womans ass, hit it like he meant it.

Ahhh good times good times.

Yeah id love to be an RI. They have so much fun.

I glad you mentioned the FRED...

I collect them... The oldest one i have is dated 1944 and it still looks the same as the ones produced today...

I was at 129RCU for 5 years as a cadet, rose through the ranks to become a CUO and then Squardon Commander...

But i was an RCT, Cadet, LCPL, CPL, SGT, WO2 then CUO... I got to see it all...

Plus I was a cadet back in the days of the SLR so i got to fire 7.62mm rounds and then try the F88 after at 5.56mm and might i say I got my marksman awards with both rifles... I also have the opertunity to go to fire the Mag 58 during my time with the cadets...

These days they are only allowed to fire .22 versions of the F88 for training purposes...

I then became a reservist and spent my time with 1JSU as a linnie and yes my drinking habbits do refelect the old linnie days...

Funny story, I got introuble for modifing my FFL... I cranked up the diesel pump pressure to get an extra 5kph out of her...

I was and still am very prowd to have been a serving member, in my time there i recieved many awards inc a long service award for the cadets and I also got the Commanding Officers Award which is the highest award in cadets in 1999...

Got a 98 over 100 with the F88 (1999)

and I got 20 out of 20 with the SLR (1995)

The styer award is a plaque and a badge, the SLR award was just a marksman badge...

Both were achieved on the 300m range at Greenbank...

      Possible swap on R34 RB20DE NEO?

      Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice

      Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance

      My heads are cathedral port! It's likely possible, but I don't want to add any extra moving parts (I know they don't move) between the heads, manifolds, etc. It will also affect how injectors/fuel rails etc sit and I don't really know if it would change how the FAST manifold goes/sits/fits. I have the LS6 steam pipes already as I have a very late LS1 block so it should be fine. I couldn't find anyone who had ever actually used one for this purpose, it seems 100% of people grind the water pump. The thermal spacers are 12mm and are half way to the cost of the newer water pump anyhow... so if it comes to that I suppose I'd rather buy a new pump. The bearing in the pump I do have is a little.. clunky, but it hasn't done that much time and I never noticed it when the car was together in the past few years, so..

      The bushing has failed, not all that uncommon for a car of this age.  Any mechanic should be able to push in a new bushing for you, or you can probably buy the entire lower control arm, complete with bushes.

      Could you not use "thermal" spacers to give the clearance, like the ones I used between the blower and head? That raised the manifold height by around 10-15mm Albeit the ones I used were for cathedral ports, but I assume they have similar for rectangular ports????
