Vic Roads Quick Legal Question

Hope this is in the right forum.

Recently bought a daily with 9 months rego.

I was taking it to a mechanic for a roady when it blew up.

Selling the car to a wrecker.

Ive got the transfer papers and reciept for purchase but oviously cant transfer the car into my name without a roady.

Is there any way i can refund the remaining rego? I no longer have the previous owners details.

Appreciate any feedback.

Bought the car off a bloke but car was registered in his parents name who spoke very very little english. Her details are on the transfer paper. Lost the blokes phone number as i have been preparing the car for a roady for 2 months.

if its got rego and isnt roadworthy get a dodgey roadie and register it in your name....

problem solved, get it running again and then you dont have to worry about fixing every niggling problem

If you have the transfer papers and a receipt, legally you own the car and any reg that's on it.

Just take those two down to vic roads and explain situation. Should be fine.
