they'll pretty much pick on anything they like

ive heard stories of people getting dicked for not having a H pattern on their gear knob

bov that vents into the atmosphere is a no no

air filter even

bald tires

steering wheel

head lights being too blue (actually being white but they think it looks blue)

no third brake light

the list is endless

and yes you can only have one air intake mod

if you want to have both just chuck the original airbox over the pod

Vicroads vehicle standards information guide is about 30 pages long and can be accessed by clicking here

There is a search function, and you may be able to find what you are after by searching for it, or you may have to go page by page.

Other documents can be found here

P.S, I left that last link as the url to point out that VicRoads dont know how to spell "information" :P

fark the police/epa man do what u want to your car, infact it is yours and u did pay $$ for it. If u get caught then put it back to normal, then put it all back on after the tests.

I did :D

They wont be picking on imports in about 2-3 months cause bracks pockets will be full of $$ by then. When its emptys he can always got the BS 3km/h speed cameras to rake in more $$

It's not worth the hassle.. some people want to get their car how they want it, and leave it.

They don't want to screw around with changing stuff every time they get pulled over. :D

What a pain.

Just get it how you like it, and leave it!

yer the poice are beyond tight on import cars, i have also heard they are blitzin the import market, that is bein harsh on da imports

some of these rules are kinda dodge though....the air filter one for example, if u have a pod, its illegal but if u put some form of box on it...its legal? meh, i just dont get it

no no no no no!

*sigh*

Pod filters are legal, providing they are paper element filters.

Oiled filters are not EPA legal.

EPA also says that you are only permitted 1 modification on the intake... so apparently if you have a turbo, you aren't meant to have a pod filter.

What a load of..... :bs!:

no kylie if your car came with a turbo stock, then u can have 1 intake mod, ie a fmic.

Kylie???

um.. well let me see... pod filter or intercooler...... now.. which one would people choose????

I think most people would prefer to have the intercooler and run an Apexi paper filter pod. ;)

Aftermarket steering wheel is legal providing that the diameter of that wheel is not smaller than 33cm across. My momo race wheel is 35cm across so it's legal. Many aftermarket steering wheels are offerend in two sizes, 32cm & 35cm. The 32s are not legal.

This is based on RTA vehicle modification guide. I dunno about vicroads but I suppose the size standard should be similar. But if you have airbag as standard equipment, you're not allowed to change your steering wheel unless you have written permission from Dept of Transport (or RTA or Vicroads ?) before you do that.

you guys mentioned vic roads rwc? before?

i wanted to ask when my car gets complianced and the enginer comes in etc

if its got an fmic in it which it does exhuast etc cold air intake steering wheel

does he pass it?

and then what happends with rwc do i take it to vic roads

how the hell are they ganna know whats legal and wats not all the poeple that work there are just stupid?

i dont understand? what they look for?
