rev limit??

whats the standard rev limiter set at on a standard rb25det?? manual that is and is it different to the auto ones?

NFI about the auto's, but a manuals rev limit is 7000rpm.

BTW - I just noticed you had an RB30 in yours too... I've done the twin cam rb30 conversion in my car... With stock cams, the car isn't going to want to rev as cleanly to 7000 due to the cams being too small, but I've got a set of GTR cams in mine, and with 'em it'll rev out to 7500 without a problem.

Out of interest, does your motor have aftermarket rods?

well i bought the car with the conversion done already and from what i know yes the rods have been done.. more info will be pasted once the car is gone on the dyno since i have owned it.

The lifters are still hydraulic, and due to the lower clearance required, it actually gives the cam more lift (although duration stays the same).

Only real difference is that I'm running GTR valve springs in it.

heh - I was hoping it had rods in it, it's just the site didn't specify.. With that much power the stockies would have bent already

the box is rebuilt with strengthened gears, syncro's and input shaft, the diff is a gtr vspec 2way lsd.

Is there any point increasing the rev limit to above 7k if you've boosted the car up? or is that just asking for trouble and past the peak efficiency anywayz?

And why does it go up to 9k red line if its only set to 7k limiter?
