Well,

I'll just leave it upto the experts to tune my car as they know what they are doing.

Hey, I'm not saying they don't know what they are doing. I've heard really good things about them.

But like I always say, I never trust anyone. Especially when I can research this stuff myself and find out alot of information before I even talk to someone that wants my money...

yeah do some research, then talk to them, throw around some techincal jargons which means " I know what I'm talking about, you f**k with me I'll have your testicles hanging outside my house"

Strange that they're telling you it needs a cold start test...

It's a PFC. No need to do anything with the cold start, seriously, there's nothing to be done at all. If it was a Microtech or other then thats fair enough.

Wil, it's funny when I did my research and ringing around I was thinking unigroup and asked them how long they needed it for. They said X days because we need it for cold start.

I thought the same as you and decided not to use them. I have since used them for a touch up tune and had a chat to them. I mentioned why I didn't go to them originally and they explained in full why.

The gist of it is, and these are my words not Yavuz', he is a perfectionist. He thinks that it is quite likely that the cold start will be fine but occasionally it isn't and he wants make sure. The thing is if he decides to make an adjustment he has to wait until it's completely cold again to see if that adjustment had an effect, hence the need to have it for some time.

He also has a thing about people going to dyno days and getting another tuner in their ear saying this bit or that bit could be improved. He wants to leave absolutely nothing out there for them to bag out.

If anyone doesn't understand or beleive this, just call them and ask for the full explanation.

I normally use Mark from Hills Motorsport who I think is an extremely talented tuner but he is in Japan for a while and was heavily booked in the weeks coming up to then so I that's why I went to Unigroup. Mark also has much more experience than 80% of the other tuners out there.

well i dropped my r33 gtst into tunehouse today at marrickville. i havent heard of many guys taking their cars there but they seem to be really good. their website explains a lot about them and the their workshop looks fantastic. i guess we'll wait and see. they sold the power fc to me for $1550 and the tune is $800. the tune does not start from any base mappings but they told me they start from scratch. i'll tell you all about it when done... hopefully will have her back tomorrow.

Ive just installed my FC and it seems to be hunting alot.In the FAQ it says to reset it and start again but it doesnt tell you how.And it also doesnt tell you how to reset the FC?????

Anyone?

193 - well todays standards isnt high, but the whole rev range feels awesome, so much quicker than my 215rwkw LS1 I had previously :( (seat of the pants feel - WSID will tell soon  )

193.8rwkw on 11

midrange is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kewl. Assuming your running std turbo and injectors. Are you running a split dump pipe and hi flow cat?

Also..did you end up getting a EBC or a turbotech?

I'm probably blind and missed your post, Chris, but who'd you end up getting to tune your car?? Power figure looks good.

Unigroup are awesome. Yavuz is very thorough and provides extremely safe tunes with good power curves. He may not squeeze every last kW out, but he always provides a tune which won't compromise the engine's reliability and will provide a smooth power curve for maximum drivability. Unigroup FTW

That said, Jim @ Dart Automotive also provided a nice tune on Brad (blk180/FEAR)'s GT-R recently which I'm impressed by...

Ok, so i have my baby back from Tunehouse in Marrickville. My car went from 140.9rwkw, now i have 204.5rwkw. My torque figures went from 1027.2Nm @ 5196rpm to 1518.3Nm at 4473rpm. very happy with the results. i also replaced the oxygen sensor, now i just have to hope the fuel economies are better...

My mods are:

3.5" turboback stainless Xforce exhaust

Apexi Pod Air Intake

GFB Stealth FX BOV

GFB Atomic Boost Controller (running 13psi)

Front Mount Intercooler

Apexi Power FC
