FORZA-MOTORSPORT
Hi guys helping a mate out with a conversion, we are putting a 5 speed rb20det in his nasp auto r32, now the motor and gearbox went in fine but the gearbox cross member is about 1inch out on both sides, has anyone else experienced this problem? fEkuaR
Id say that would be due to the auto and manual cross members being different however i dont know if this is correct. Can you get a hold of a cross member of a r32 running a manual trans? [Jacek]
it will be more a case of the studs for the crossmember not lining up, you'll probably need to remove your studs and put new ones in place for the manual crossmember. this is what has to be done on an r31 anyway... BADR33
here is a couple of things i have heard about you can do. you need a crossmember from a gxi skyline or s13. or just slot the mounts on the crossmember. or turn the mount around and drill new holes check out this site to be sure to get the right answer http://www.d1nz.com/forum/ search in nissan and you will find the answer... SMiTHBRo
after converting my cefiro i learnt that there are three types of manual nissan crossmembers, marked with either A, B or C. A & B has forward arching mounts, C has backward. I needed a C for my car, going from auto to manual. Nissan used different floorpans between the auto & manual versions of their cars, so a manual crossmember from the same car might not fit. Hope this helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/150890-rb20det-conversion-gearbox-cross-member-not-lining-up/#findComment-2899859 Share on other sites
