Clunking/knocking In Rear

I get this knock or sorta clunk in the rear from the diff area when i suddenly go off throttle. It also happens alot when im reversing and at a certain speed when im braking hard.

It became apparent after a night of a few hard launches so im thinking i might have done a CV joint.

Any ppl with similar experiences?

Could be a cv, but most likely the Diff. Mine has a clunck after fitting the new HD clutch, mainly as the clutch is so hard and grips so well that it doesn't prelode the drive line before disengaging, it just disengages.

this might sounds stoopid but have you checked your wheel nuts are done up properly...I had a clunk noise in the rear of my 180sx that took days and about 4 different mechanic diagnosis' to work out, we were sure it was diff/tailshaft related but jsut needed to re-tighten the wheel nuts

In regards to the diff, i just has 1 rebuilt only 2months ago so i doubt it is it, but im hoping it is, since it is still under warranty.

I'll also checkout the wheel nuts 2moro, hopefully it is that

Most "bush mechanics" ive spoken to reckon its the CV joint tho

hobzta man, u are seriously a legend. It checked the wheel nuts and for some unusual reason a few of them were loose, mayb some1 has tried to steal my rims. Regardless, problem is now fixed and u mate saved me alot of f***ing around.... so thank u

could even be the exhaust knocking against the diff or rear bar. could literally be anything

Just to add, when i last had my car serviced i started gettin a clunk from the rear, got really bad.

Took to a diff shop, found one stud off and all the others lose. Were not tighted when they were removed. Another 5k, could have lost a wheel.

yeah. again people who are afraid or to daft to instal wheel studs with a rattlegun..its the only way.
