You mean MAXXIS MAZ-1 tyres. I have both the MAZ-1 and MAV-1 and i must admit they are a great tyre. I have the Z on the 200fwkw Magna, and they lasted propably 1.5 years with rotations, otherwise the front would be gone i 3 months. LOADS of grip in thw wet and dry, excellent value for money, and they won 2nd best sports tyre in a wheels magazine test. BUT they are soft

The V's are on the Skyline as they are a harder compound so not so much wear, i would say propably %15 worse then the Z but still an excellent tyre.

The Z's are a bit more noisy on the road too.

I had a pair until about 3 weeks ago, they were out of round (means exactly how it sounds, they were OVALs). Knowing my luck and that Maxxis are a brand with a reasonable background, I doubt this is a common thing (but that didn't stop me getting Toyos instead, just in case the shop I bought from got a whole bad batch).

I'd say the grip was about 50% better than the Falken 326 I had previously, but nowhere near the Toyo T1Rs I have now (but which cost twice as much...).

the MA-V1 are a really good harder compound tyre and have heaps of grip. but being a harder compound tyre if you go spinning the rear wheels a lot you will loose chunks of rubber from the edges of the tread pattern.

i've had V1's for about a year and a bit now, best tyres ive ever hard. Grips so well and wears well too and great in the wet! I got 225's all round and seems to get really good traction in all conditions.

Just put some of the MA-Z1's on the Stagea in 235/40/18s and grip seems good and I find them quieter than the Nankangs that were on the OEM rims.

Grip is good but haven't had them long enough to comment on wet weather performance or durability.

Good tyre none the less
