This sounds like the one MAG86 said his mate was selling with a N/A R30 for $1800??? WTF

But to be 79 has to be a C211?

That's odd - dont know whats happened there. Just do a search for 240K in the search box of;

http://www.autotrader.com.au

it comes up in the used car section. You cant miss it. Big bronze, beautiful... and kinda expensive. The misnamed gold C210 that comes up on the same search is pretty cool too.

That Gt-x is sure to make someone very happy. Count those webbers... drool... Now I want triples so badly.

i know the car... its one of our prince skyline club members...... he has done one hell of a job on it and its worth every penny

it's a C210 and i doubt it's the one that mag86's mate was selling cos this one is in adelaide

The gold C110 is awesome. It was originally on eBay up on the Gold Coast but got taken off early. Now it's down there for a fairly large sum of money (for a stock 240K). Depends how much you want a good original 240K though. Not many people do, which kinda explains why it's been for sale for a long time. If it was in Japan it'd be snapped up in a minute.

All this interest in 240Ks now - I don't get it? I had a mint 240K white coupe with original mags for 9 years (I bought it from a one owner lady in 1990 for $3000, it had 16,000 kms on the clock and a boot, spare mag & tyre that all had never been used. She actually cried when I drove off with it). Was my 2nd 240K (first was a sedan with unknown # of previous owners), I always liked 240Ks after a guy at school had one, but most people never looked twice at them!

Could someone tell me why are they suddenly such a desirable car now? Is it the Skyline heritage and people have only just worked out that they're early Skylines, or are they just considered cool now?

Thanks

i think they relise that they are early skylines... and that seems to be the in thing...., i always have people askin me if i want to part with my S54B-E (1966 Prince Skyline GT-B) all the time.... and you call all guess my answer on that one......;)

"All this interest" ... well you are on a Classic Skylines forum here! There is interest here. There is still not all that much interest in Australia as a whole though.

Think of all the little crapbox Mazdas that no one wanted in the 80s and 90s - now they're worth heaps as everyone is scrambling to get one. Same deal, they've just reached that magic 30 year age.

In reality, they're still worth very little. There is really not much interest compared with other Japanese classics.

On the subject of 240k's becoming a more desireable these days, feel free to witness my humiliation on being outbid just about 2-fold on this little number.

Never mind. There's a '63 Datsun Cedric down the road screaming out for a good home... Right, where's my credit card!

I was surprised too it went for that much! Looks like it needs quite a bit of TLC from the pictures, but maybe apart from the paint it was really good. Hard to tell without inspecting eh.

I hear you. So much for picking up a cheap and cheerful project. I guess $1,700 isnt exactly a fortune but sheesh... It looks a little bit like something you'd find on the side of the road with a council notice on it! Nice enough interior and all though...
