Which Skylines Can You Drive On P Plates

Hi, first post. I'm a 22yr old on my L plates going for for P's soon and I'm wondering which model of skyline I'm allowed to drive.I like these two

The first one is a turbo the second one isn't. Are they both OK for P a plate driver or are they classified as a high powered vechile? cheers

What state are you in?

NSW rules are that you cannot drive a v8 or turbo vehicle whilst on your p's - there are exemptions however

If your in Victoria.

the only skylines you can drive are:

R32 - GTS (NON TURBO) AND GTST (TURB0)

R33 - GTS (NON TURBO) AND GTS4

R34 - GT (NON TURBO)

Not much trouble.

They go by stock figures only.

If your in victoria, the 34 is illegal. If you in nsw, the 34 is illegal.

I think in Vic we go by kw / tonne, something like 130 125kw or there abouts untill the new laws applies in July.

(Just searched, it is 125kw per tonne)

Just put some weights in the boot so it just works out!

(Nah, I think they go by redbook...but then redbook doesn't tell you what the weight of the car is?)

They go by the factory quoted power figure and weight.

So at the end, I think you should try to get a test drive of the r34 gt and see if you really like it.

Seeing you looked at autos, play around with the tiptronic, it might be fun!
