With my experience I would not use Emange........PFC is a much better option.

why?

I was speaking to a tuner about the emanage. He sung nothing but praises for it. He is running ~400kw at the treads in his GTR using an Emanage. Did a swap on his brother's S15 for shits and giggles. It picked up an extra 25kw over the haltech that was in it. Can run both MAP and AFM. I think you are only limited with injector sizes on the emanage. Im not sure how big it will let you go, i didn't ask for specific info.

why?

there is nothing wrong with it.

however witht he PFC

u can control timing and other bits on the fly

its generally easier to install and revert to stock if u ask why just look at its size.

you get some good read outs which are useful.

More tuners are used to using the PFC

shall I go on?

Things will slowly change. The FC has dominated for a long time.

At the end of the day tunners that wont touch anything other than Power FC's will be missing out on a lot of business.

Be it the emanage, haltech, autronic or heaven forbid the microguess tunning options are changing.

I agree on the whole hand controller thing but seriously people overrate it. Besides the knock read out (which you only look at if you dont trust your tunner really) all the other info is usless or readily available via guages.

Emanage is now also plug and play.

If its tunned right you shouldnt need to touch it on the fly and via toggle switch the emanage can revert to a 2nd map which could be tunned for low RON fuel if you wanted to

Everything has pro's and con's End of the day depends what the owner/tunner agree to use. FC will be popular forever and Ill always use/recommend them but there are other options that are just as good.

I have installed and used an emanage. It yielded similar results.

I enjoy the features of the PFC so I installed that, wont look back.

I had a bit of a hard time installing the emanage, ended up under my seat. Might have plug and play cables but its not plug and play unit as its still a piggyback device.

The Ultimate has the toggle switch, not the std blue version.

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
