Not the only mate.... Landscaper for the summer, then heading into a publishing/sales & marketing position.

well i am sorta in that industry....i am just not qualified! haha doing civil construction work now (just a tad bit different to telemarketing that i did this time last year). i really should start using that degree for something......

theres a few of us tradies on here mate. ive been qualified for 2 years now. i think 6 years is long enough though. maybe time for a career change... and no not into IT >_<

actually I sit at a desk and click a mouse all day, if anyone tells you engineering is fun keep an eye on them....

Having said that the work isn't all that bad and it pays for the R.

err, no his income would be around $122,000 (pre tax)... that's the 1600+ a week after tax

There are a couple of electricians that left us recently to work up in north WA and will be on around $4500 a week after tax. Working in the middle of no where on 12hr shifts for 1 month straight and 1 week off on a cycle. For the month your working all you do is work, eat, shit, sleep, and work again. Not a long term career thing, good maybe for a few years.

As for me, I’m an IT student at Swinburne in Hawthorn, I’ve had second thoughts here and there but I think I’ll stick with it, having that said, if it all goes to crap it’ll go back and do civil engineering lol

lol mate. dont believe all the hype...Swinny is the joint of campions.

Take it from me...if I can make it big...u can :laugh: lol

Fitter and turner by trade but I manage the family plastics factory these days..

nylons and polyeurethane, and yes we can do custom engine mounts and things like that :laugh:

actually looking for a fitter and turner and a cupple of laborers if anyone is interested.
