Sonoco Racing Fuels For The Street

SONOCO racing. have introduced to myself and my work there latest fuels: Gt unleaded and Gt plus. both fuels are unleaded and are about half the price of ELF racing fuels and VP. However the gt plus is not street leagal due to its 4.5% oxygen level. However the gt unleaded is virtually the equivellant of av-gas. BUT ITS STREET LEAGAL... it is 100 octane ron and 105 mon. it has a oxygen level of double optimax so you can make a bucket load of extra power.. Before we could endorse this product we tried it on our group A evoIII rally car . results were as follows..

boost pressure was constant for all tests

optimax... 20psi 148kw at wheels 3000n torque

gt unleaded...20psi 157kw at wheels 3880n torque

gt plus ... 20 psi 171.8 kw at wheels at 5700n torque

Only tuning to timing!! was carried out so at least 6 psi could be dialled in to gain heaps more grunt .... if only the A.R.C didnt make us use 32mm inlet restrictors.
