Who Knows Nissan Pulsars?

Lately my mum's '90 model nissan pulsar hatchback has made a noise on startup, i open the bonnet to have a see if i could locate where the noise was coming from. i only seems to do it when cold so she tells me.

its kind of like a whiring sound and last prob half a sec at most. the car only has just over 100k kms on it if anyones wondering.

i work better with pics so i took a photo with the top of the intake pointing to where i think the general area the noise is coming from...

i know a couple people have complained about this with their skylines aswell... have a look in the General Maintenance threads, you might find what your lokoing for. Forced induction might be worth a read also

i know that isnt what you were looking for, but its the best advise i had

they all make noise on startup, either lifters, or belts.. my n13 has done 263,000km and it also makes noise

Starter motor. My n13 did this quite often on startup. It was like a screechy geary noise. Didn't sound good.

could be the timing belt/chain rattling. or it could be that the lifters are worn.

or starter motor.
