One of my exhaust manifold studs has snapped off in the head and I'm wondering if it will be alright to just leave it like that. Or would it cause a leak?

It was already snapped before I took the manifold off and there was no sign of leaking. But I'm now putting a highmount on and there will be fair bit more weight involved.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if you already do this but just a suggestion, I always use wd40 when taking off exhaust studs, let it soak in for about 30 mins then hit it again before you take them off.

I snapped a few previously before I started doing this, seem to have a higher success rate now.

yeah it get fixed. find a mobile thread repair guy.

if you try and do it yourself, and snap an easy out. it will end up costing double to get it proffessionally taken out

HAH! I snapped an easy out in one of my exh mani studs. I was able to grind the snapped off portion out of the stud using a dremel with a tungsten carbide bit. It ate through the hardened steel of the easy out like butter. Here is a link to the exact bit I used...

Hope this helps someone out there =]

when i was taking mine out i was using wd40, id start turning them out and as soon as they tighten u go back in spray some more, then go back at it untill its out all the way.
