Funny that, when I was up there they also had a stillen supercharger and intercooler they were going to fit to the V35 and sell as a kit, but when I called about it last week it was still in the box as I left it last year. What a shame.

To answer the question about why they call it the V35 and not the R35?

I read that the chassis number is determined by the engine designation. The R31/32/33/34 series platforms had RB motors and now the new skylines have VG series motors and are called V35.

35 because it comes after 34 and V because of the VG series motor.

I'm not sure it's always been that way for skylines, but apparently that's what I read in a mag about the more recent skylines. (R31 onwards)

If anyone else can shed some light, I'd like to be 100% sure.

The V35 has a VQ, not a VG.

As for the chassis designation corresponding to the engine, it fits for the Skyline but at the same time why would Nissan use that chassis naming convention just for one series of car? Their engine naming convention is consistent across all their modern products (2 letters / engine displacement / camshafts / EFI / Turbo) yet not every Nissan has the chassis letter corresponding to the engine.

It doesn't fit with the mentality of large companies. If you have a naming convention, you make it consistent across everything you do. That it happens to fit the Skyline just seems like a fluke; a similar urban myth to RB standing for "Race Bred".

You could just as well say that the R31-34 chassis were built with an "R" model (GTS-R for the R31, GT-R for the R32-34) in mind when Nissan first designed them, whereas the current generation Skyline was never going to get an R model. Thus it would never "earn" the right to have an R chassis, so they had to give it another name.

Its just as plausible, and just as unlikely.

Has anyone looked into if you can use components out of the current Aus patrol to get the Navi/Screen working in the V35?

I already working on that for more than 4 months. the answer is "yes" but doesn't worth it. chech my perious post for the options.

it took me 3 hour to fit the wing

dig 10 different sized holes on my boot.

1 of 20MM, 3 of 13MM, 6 of 18mm.

F**k it is hard work as the metal is over 1mm thick and very hard and my tool are craps from $2 shop

But looks awesome with the addtional break light on the wing.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.

Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
