Greetings guys,

Im looking at upgrading to an R33 GTR from my current ride (R32 GTST).

Whats the difference between a Vspec(I & II) and a normal one?

How would one physically tell a Vspec apart from a normal one? (Apart from the sticker on the boot lid)

I noe the R32s were easier to differentiate, since the V specs had brembos which the rest of the R32s didnt have....

Many thanks

Mark

:))

Oh P.S: What kind of LSDs do the 33GTRs/Vspecs currently run? I was wondering if they were equipped with the same Helical LSDs as found on the r34GTR/S15/R34GTT, or the viscous as found on the 33GTSTs etc...

Thanks for the advice guys!

Nuthing wrong with the the R32 V specs, its just that i was told those were easier to differentiate from the normal r32 gtrs because they had brembos while the rest didnt.

The 33s all have brembos.

So basically i need to look out for:

1. V spec sticker of course :P

2. Rear Diff with cooling fins

Anything esle that might help?

Many thanks guys!

There is only one 'series' of the R33 gtr v spec, although there were the usual R33 revisions. Fins on the rear diff are the most noticable difference for the active LSD. (As opposed to smooth)

Main difference: V spec has a rear Active LSD. There are a couple of others IIRC, like suspension.

OK my dad had the same trouble while looking for one, though we did find out the easiest way to tell witch is simply bend over and look up the ass of the car and if the diff has cooling fins on it and looks somthing like a 50cc engine off a bike... thats a v-spec diff :P no garentees somone has put one on there tho :(

look at the front brakes because there diferant to a normal GT-R too

Oh and whats wrong with the R32 GT-R?

to put it simpley, there is a longer reaction time befor the 4x4 kicks in plus its not the smoothest of motion compared to the R33... this makes it a pig to drive hard if you dont know what your doing.

although its around a second quicker 0-100 :P R33 just makes a much more driver orientated ride.

I've been doing some homework on the internet regarding the V spec, and some quoted the v spec to have harder and lower (10mm) suspension.

Can anyone with a vspec verify this? (rofocale perhaps?)

I've test driven a non vspec before, but have yet to score a ride in a vspec.

P.S: whats the diff between a vspec and a v spec II then?

Many thanks for the input guys

really appreciate it!

Can't verify the suspension thing, but I think you're right. There were no series II for R33 GTR V specs. Only on R32 and R34s have that. R33 revisions are the usual things like passenger airbags etc. I have seen adds for series II R33 GTR's. They're wrong. Hahahaha. Vendors looking for an excuse to get more money.

If anyone has High Performance Imports mag no. 16, there is a 2 page article on the R33 V-SPEC differences.

I have scanned these pages (hopefully HPI won't mind), so if anyone is interested post or PM your email and I'll send them through. (191Kb & 220Kb).
