hey guys, it appears my bottom end is gone to crappers.

im wondering will a rb 30 bottom end bolt straight on...or the 25 head bolt straight on for that matter..

Do i need to use a vl turbo engine for the conversion since my rb25 is turbo? or will any rb30 bottom end be suitable? also

will my rb25det (automatic) gearbox bolt onto the rb30?

dunno if these questions are dumb or not. any info would be great thanks

ok i might just clean that up a bit,

i currently own a Nissan R33 Skyline

Rb25det (automatic)

Bottom end is crapping itself

Im wondering what i would need to do in order to use a Rb30 block, If its even possible.. Sorry for any confusion

Would engine mounts be fine? Would gearbox match up? Would i be able to use the N/A rb30 block?

Is there any benefit at All in doing the 30/25 combined engine powerwise? or am i stupid :|

Its all do-able.

Lots of info on the R31 club forums about putting twin cam heads on rb30 blocks, and using rb25 boxes.

    • Welcome. Dont let anyone dissuade you from your dreams. If you want a gtr, keep sabing and you will eventually get one. I feel like if I had have bought stocks, those companies would have gone bust and I would have lost my money.  There's a gamble in everything we buy. I've had good times and bad. But... I've also met my absolute best friend through this network and can't imagine life without them(more like a brother). Keep in mind, some specific mods will change as technology gets better. If you feel like general chat, there's always the wasteland.....
    • Those are some very cutesy barriers! Is that common?
    • Saw this abandoned Honda Fit in a carpark that was getting repaved... they just 'cut around it' and continued with the job! There's a number of reasons why the car could have been abandoned, but as for the construction company, legally they don't have permission to move the car from the owner (who has moved on and can't be contacted) so all they can do it just leave it there with enough space around it so it won't get damaged.
    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
