Jet Sounding Noise On Startup

Hey Guys,

Just purchased a 1996 S2 Skyline and just wondering what the noise is when i start it. when I go to start it its sounds like a jet noise as its cranking over and just wondered if this is normal or not? Anyone with any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Screeching sort of noise while cranking?

Maybe the starter motor not engaging but unless you give a really detailed description you won't get a decent answer.

Nah its not a screeching noise.. The best description is like a jet turbine noise or whining sort of sound.. it starts normal and everything its just that noise when you first get it cranking over..

Is it when you first crank it over.. or is it when you turn the key to "on" or whatever it is.. e.g. 1 step before cranking..
