Due to the time of year and below average entries to date, we have decided to offer driver training entries for our upcoming event at Calder Park for only $70!

Please note that this event is on this coming Saturday night! We start in the afternoon and finish under lights. We use the long track as per the V8 supercars etc..

So if you were thinking of entering your first track day this year, here is a perfect opportunity to have some fun on a race track for a super price.

Please note: this is only for people who want to come and try without the pressures of speed. You don't have to drive flat out (but you can :verymad: ) and your laps will not be timed.

This offer is open to anyone. Please note you will need at least a fire extinguisher mounted in your car, an approved helmet and neck to angle clothing (preferably mostly cotton). You car will need to be roadworthy and your tyres over the minimum depth.

If you have any questions ask the receptionist in the Lancer... :) (or post here :) )

Currently working on clearance to do "driver training" in then GTR. May have to trot out some c*ck and bull story about needing to scrub the semis clean regularly........

I've already paid for my DT.. Do I get some cash back? :O

I was told last night that we did not have any DT's for Calder :O

But I see you name is on the entry list so maybe shoot an email through to Clarissa - [email protected]

Do this ASAP and hopefully she'll get it before she processes the payments, then you should be right

Don't quote me Kyle but I think AASA passes at calder...its about half the price of CAMS at about $45 per year

not so worried about the cost, was more along the lines of I don't have either and dunno if a week will be enough time to get one......

and what on earth are you on about geoff :O (oh and the lockbar fits good too :O , just need to get an alignment done now)

So to join this event what do we need as far as licensing is concerned??? Is this open to any car?? my mate has an xr6 ute and wants to come along. Please reply ASAP

Sorry my bad cant come anyway have a party to go to :O

Do i get a refund?

I paid $120 last week

It will only be driver training entries that are $70

Timed speed entries are still $140

But if you have already paid $120 (previous DT cost) with the intention of only doing Driver Training then contact Clarissa - [email protected]

Do you need a CAMS license to do the Driver Training?

This day is run under the AASA banner, and a AASA Licence or a CAMS L2S is required.

Omurru - If you want to do this event PM me and we can organise you a licence prior to the event.

i am in for his 100% is AASA is enough. is there a DB limit for the driver training ? mmm screamer

AASA is fine. DB limit is 95db at 30m. But you will be fine. Just enter.

    • I have multiple bottles in a shed that gets hot, and I'm in SEQ, so it's humid. Maybe we test their theory... Anyone have a system to accurately measure moisture content in oil?
    • Yeah, that and throwing away opened, part used, closed back up bottles has got to be bullshit. Brake fluid sits in not-very-well sealed master cylinder reservoirs for literal years and keeps working (albeit we know we should flush it every couple of years - it actually still works). Anything kept in a bottle in the shed with a tightly capped lid has got to be a million times better than what has been in the car for the same length of time.
    • Wait, they're claiming UNOPENED fluid has a shelf life of only 18 months?
    • The plan is to get it out of the shed. The reality may fall some way short. But hope is as cheap as despair as they say. Will go a wide band I think. The coils are ok so maybe I’ll miss the $1500 on the R35 coils etc. Im still on the fence about a trigger kit. The HKS one looks nice ($1k) - not sure how it works with the Link or if Link prefer something else. Oil pressure is fine so I’m not that concerned there. Fuel pressure I’ll have a think about. The IAT got changed for the Link anyway as the old RB26 ones were really slow reacting and pretty poor. The Power FC just worked. Wasn’t terribly refined but it just worked. Probably made a mistake replacing it really. E85 isn’t available locally - it is 100+ kms away which puts it in the too hard basket. Lastly I understand Tunecorp in Perth are pretty good so was probably going there.   As for turbos is there are new age -5 drop in replacement? Turbos have come a long way in 20 years, everyone is big single which is fair enough but I prefer the old school complication of twins. Wasn’t chasing more power (well, not much more) but more efficiency would be ok.
    • I thought I'd share this....the shell is non genuine but they found or built a lot of the genuine parts. Plus, it is by far the best colour scheme of those years, the winfield once was particularly shit https://www.v8sleuth.com.au/written-off-inaugural-godzilla-recreated/
