Buy a house while they are still remotely affordable! Sell it in 5 years and buy a lambo!

The only problem with that solution is spending your prime years with a cruddy car and no cash to do anything fun.

I wish I could get out of cars and buy a house. But I am not ready to grow up and be sensible yet.

Nah man, im into cars for now, ill buy a house later in life im only bloody 19, i dont plan to buy a house till 25, why put my self through all the bills and bullcrap of owning a home lol.

Just cars do, do rating 1 after 3 years. Even with just 3rd party. Kinda odd but hey.

But dude, if you can afford a $30k car easily, I have to say your stupid to be spending it on that. Buy a house while they are still remotely affordable! Sell it in 5 years and buy a lambo!

Because at a guess a 25yo with a house and a lambo is a lot more attractive than a 25yo with no car and a deposit for a house? :)

But yeah, back on topic. Your going to have to go with justcars until your about 21. Its benificial to have the full comp insurance if you can. As it should save you money later down the track.

second of all im a pretty safe driver i just like the whole turbo thing with the blow off valve,

hmmm. so are like half of the other fools buying a turbo car and swapping to atmospheric BOVs... ull be doin skids in carparks soon too.. typical..

saying that. stay away from turbo cars. get a honda and live up to ur rep as a wog... civics are fully sick :)

Yeah house buying is ghey...I had the money approved and everything, but just decided it wasnt for me, so now I make $200 a week from putting the money in other investments! Houses arent the only way, have fun while you can

I bought my first property with Nay when I was 19... I turn 25 this June and ill be in our 3rd home by then (currentlly under construction)

Word of advice tho, make your first house pre-built. I dont suggest to anyone to build from scratch until your really ready for it, it has been very very stressfull, the worst part is paying intrest on a property you dont live in yet and its not making any rental income during construction... Also for those who think building a house is a 14 week process left me tell you it actually takes about a year...

Yeah house buying is ghey...

Horses for corses i guess... Being a home owner makes you count the beans twice even three times and you suffer from buyers remorse far more often, even at the supermarket when you see the price of cheese... :)

Yeah I'm in the same boat, house owner, work full time, study, have a skyline and so far from grown up I'd almost say immature...my wedding this year will sort me out probably? :)

Ahahahhahaha im not lebanese, dont drive hondas id rather get a old school beema, whats wrong with skidz lol.

Ahahahahahhah, nice dan, And col, im just not ready for a house im not even sure i wanna live in this country for 5 more years, no water, too many laws lol, and insurance is to expensive lol. All the stuff that make me wanna move. Who knows a good country whith cheep insurance, sexy cars, and not alot of laws lol.

I think italy classifys lol. All ferraris and crap and i love europe no one follows the speed limits lol. Germanys autobarn ive been dying to try that lol.

Mate if you can't afford comperhensive insurance then please do think it though first before buying a car because you are putting yourself and others at risk.

how is he puttong others at risk by not having coprehensive insurance????????????

I think italy classifys lol. All ferraris

Hate to rain on your parade

But Italy is full of moped's... Fuel is like $3.00 a litre AUD on a good week...

More Ferrari's are exported to USA than sold in all of Europe...

Speaking of laws, A mate hit a goat in Italy and the police made him pay for the boys goat, then the police would not let him take the goat after paying for it... He suspects it was a scam, as the following day the same boy, goat and police officer were doing the same thing with another tourist...

Not too many countries as good as Australia...

"Eat lamb this Australia day"

I love lamb im sam kankovic, yeah ive decided to get comprehensive anyway until i sell the car its gonna cost me $2600 with just car and they gonna insure it for 19500, with wheels, exhaust, pod, and the springs.

Take it from me, being 20 and have been able to afford expensive cars, BUY A HOUSE.

I know what it feels like, young, what a hot/nice car, but think about it, use that money to buy a house, deal with a semi boring car for a few years, perhaps refinance then or something and get into an even better car then what you could if you bought another “cool” car now.

The pro’s for looking at property now, are just so much better, I have owned roughly $100k worth of cars since I got m L’s (16 yr old), obviously I have bought and sold, but say I didn’t waste that money, along with the up keep, fuel, rego, insurance, transfer’s, MODS! ect and stuck with a more “normal” car and didn’t have to go though the expenses of owning that amount of cars over a period of time… Id be far better off.

I was a real estate agent for 2 years at century 21, I can tell you right now, that if you have a full time job, and $15k to put up front you can and will get a mortgage.

    • Boot is going to be replaced eventually. I just wire brushed what I could and rust converted. Then painted in rust kill primer. the spoiler also got repainted and plugs replaced on the ends. The under side of the bonnet is going to be black also, currently white. But red on the top side, same colour code as the silo to begin.
    • Hi guys, has anyone either purchased or built themselves a rotisserie for their car before? I can only just justify the need for one hence why I should just make one but at the same time, if I make one I can kiss another 4 weeks of potentially productive car working time goodbye because I'm building a bloody rotisserie....  I mainly want it for the application of the body deadener.  Cleaning the old stuff off, priming and then colour over the deadener doesn't worry me, it's just the application using the Schutz Gun that I feel would achieve a significantly better finish painting it side on and keeping the Schutz Gun upright.  I don't think they would work well on the side let alone almost upside down for some areas.  If the product I use (Terosun, etc) could work through a HVLP ok then it might be ok to apply without the rotisserie.   I can get one of these style ones for about $1200 which is pretty good value-     I reckon if I made one it would cost around $500 but it's more the time that it would take is more of a killer than the cost.  They look to hold their value pretty well second hand so I could always sell it after using it and realistically only lose $200-$300 at worst.  Or keep it and buy another project when this one finally sees the light of day... Anyone selling one...? Cheers!
    • While it is a very nice idea to put card style AFMs into the charge pipe (post intercooler, obviously), the position of the AFM and the recirc valve relative to each other starts to become something that you really have to consider. The situation: The stock AFM is located upstream the turbo, and the recirc valve return is located between the AFM and the turbo inlet, aimed at the turbo inlet, so that it flows away from and not through the AFM. Thus, once metered air is not metered again, neither flowing forwards, or backwards, when vented out of the charge pipe. When you put the AFM between the turbo outlet and the TB, there is a volume of pressurised charge pipe upstream of the AFM and there is a volume of pressurised pipe downstream of the AFM. When the recirc valve opens and vents the charge pipe, air is going to flow from both ends of the charge pipe towards the recirc valve. If the recirc valve is in the stock location, then the section between it and the TB doesn't really matter here - you're not going to try to put the AFM in that piece of pipe. But the AFM will likely be somewhere between the intercooler and the recirc valve, So the entire charge pipe volume from that position (upstream of the AFM, back through the intercooler, to the turbo outlet) is going to flow through the AFM, get registered as combustion air, cause the ECU to fuel for it, but get dumped out of the recirc valve and you will end up with a typical BOV related rich spike. So ideally you want to put the AFM as close to the TB as possible (so, just upstream of the crossover pipe, assuming that the stock crossover is still in use, or, just before the TB if an FFP is being used) and locate the recirc valve at the turbo outlet. Recirc valve at the turbo outlet is the new normal for things like EFRs anyway. In the even of a recirc valve opening dumping all the air in the charge pipe, pretty much all of it is going to go backwards, from the TB to the recirc valve near the turbo outlet. But only a small portion of it (that between the TB and the AFM) will pass through the AFM, and it will pass through going backwards. The card style AFMs are somewhat more immune to reading flow that passes through them in reverse than older AFMs are, so you should absolutely minimise the rich pulse behaviour associated with the unavoidable outcome of having both a recirc valve and an AFM in the charge pipe.
    • Yep, in my case as soon as I started hearing weird noises I backed off the tension until it sounded normal again. Delicate balance between enough tension to avoid that cold start slip and too much damaging things.
