Yakoozaz
Me and my mate changed over my stock exhaust on the weekend to a split front/dump pipe down through to a new Canon. Wasn't easy but we got there in the end. But straight to the point here, we were unable to get the sensor out of the Cat, so we left the old cat on there.. the sensor bolt is to badly rusted together. Can anyone suggest something for this? Can I replace the sensor? Also, I'm getting a little backfire every time I press down on the gas. Now I know there are prop 100's of topics on this, but also a suggestion on this would be great. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/151736-exhaust-change-over/ Share on other sites
silver gts-t
if you have already tried soaking it in WD40 try smacking it with a hammer a few times Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/151736-exhaust-change-over/#findComment-2822809 Share on other sites
123456
Yeh wd40 it up or if it still wont work, then just leave it unplugged, it's only a sensor for a dashboard light. MANWHORE
Yeah, as said above. the sensor doesn't really do much. God knows how much it would cost to buy a new one of those. You'd probably have to go to nissan to buy genuine. Considering an o2 sensor is 180 from nissan, that sensor willprobably be the same (ripoff). You did a pretty good job of changing the exhuast over yourself. Some of those bolts can be pretty hard to do. I woulda thought the cat sensor woulda been a piece of cake compared to the dump bolts. Spray wd40, leave it for a day, spray it again, do the same. Tap the top with a hammer. You could even try tightening the bolt ever so slightly to break the rust. What is the problem? is it just tight? or is the thread stripped? Yakoozaz
Most of the bolts where ok.. Untill we got to the turbo \ dump pipe... getting those 6 bolts off where a bi**h.. Alot of blood sweat and tears... For the sensor, yeah I WD40'd it alot.. I've almost stripped the bolt though trying to get it undone.. I'll try soaking it over night and try again the next day. Munkyb0y
if you've got access to an oxy torch, heat up the cat where the sensor taps in. it will come out easily. get it red hot, only takes a few seconds, then undo the sensor. that's how i did mine.
