Is your mate Tomonori's frined in D1, Yoshioka Toshiki?

YES!!! Tomonori's friend has been driving in D1 for 2 years now I think. in a hachi roku too, with his team (Cool D) stickers on ;)

way to go tosh with the obscure D1 knowledge! ;) most people unless I say taniguchi, or nomuken etc have NFI what I'm on about. Tomonori is also very talented. but I think not dedicated enough to be a D1 prospect, but he does have sponsorship already :D

Watching all those Option DVD's pays off :action-smiley-069:

Yoshioka is a FREAKING good driver!!! He won the 2005 Round 4 in Autopolis which is a MEAN feat considering how fast Autopolis is and how much it suits the high horsepowered cars.

In that round he beat Nomuken (530ps BLITZ R34) then Kumakubo (550ps Team Orange/JUN WRX & 2006 Champion) then Suenaga (460ps RE Amemiya FD3S RX7 & 2005 Runner Up) and finally Hibino (Sunrise/Mercury AE86)

Just found this on the D1GP website

cool! yeah, tomonori was very proud that a member of his team is in D1. Actually their cars are quite similar if anything Tomo's car is a bit lighter (less safety gear I guess), but a bit less power too (maybe 230ps).

I love the old option vids too. My friend gave me a 2004 option dvd as a present while I was there. It features Tsukuba Super Lap back when the HKS and Cyber EVOs first ran 55s... awesome vid.

yep

Imamura was in a brown AE86

Taniguchi was driving his own personal S15 which started out Yellow then got resprayed Red

Nomuken, Kumakubo and Tanaka weren't competing

Ueno in the Vertex Soarer was dominant

Tezuka drove a Chaser and not the Bee R Skyline

Miki was in a blue S14

photo shop? webspace? me not understand. or I as often find my self saying: sumimasen, wakarimasen.

you should be proud that I know how to upload to image shack and then link the hosted pics to display here! I can be a bit noob at times. I dont have a working copy of photoshop (i'd love one though if someone is obliging!) and I do have 50mb webspace with my isp but never used it and have NFI how... so i'll just battle on with image shack. with a fast connection it's not so bad anyway.

loving this thread richard!

i like the random shots... and you have a great skill of being able to remember stuff. Like the name of streets and that it was facing east and what area is around it etc.. I would be like "umm this is a nice street. in the city somewhere" lol

what were all those girls dressed up like that for? please explain lol. I've seen it before but why do they do it, and why are they all hanging around there together?

most importantly: did I get any more pressies this time?

I love the Purple GTR ,, Have you got any other shots of the area you live in as it is good to see what you wont see on tv and adds etc

(((ANDREW )))

Hi Shell, glad you like the pics. well as for why people get into the cos play I really dont know. I think it's a way to get attention. Makes them feel good I guess so why not? It's certainly out there! with the hanging out at harajuku well it's just a popular place to meet for the cos-play-zoku I dont know how it started though it is a very trendy area in tokyo and bit like darlinghurst or acutally more like newtown here. so it's a natural kind of place for people on the fringe to hang out.

dave, I dont know the saurus site, but I'll ask my friend for you. he knows hayashi-san quite well.

andrew, I'll try and get a chance to do some more pics. glad you like 'em :P I do still have lots.

    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
    • Not required but appreciated. Super Coppermix Twin even the non-competition model feels like the pedal is noticeably heavier than stock which was pretty well judged IMO. I'll be swapping in the Nismo operating cylinder soon to see how that feels.  Personally I haven't felt anything that justifies replacing the damping loop, at least compared to more modern stuff where the clutch delay valve is actually quite noticeable.
