hey mate.

yea i know this car and have driven it and worked on it since he brought it only a few months back. its a realy orsom car and if i didnt already have one id be right on top of this one. a very good buy!

if you want any more info let me know.

damo

I have seen it buzzing around a fair bit. It does sound like it moves when he boots it. I personally havent heard any problems about it. Alot of rumours around about how much power the thing actually makes, I got no idea on the facts so I won't say anything. It's neat though, only fault I could pick from a distance looking at it is that it's never had similar wheels (even in the photo in the paper they are odd) but if you're going to drift it then it wouldn't matter. Go check it out and let us know what ya think of it!

went and checked out car, not bad minor things needing doing, depends how much of a perfectionist you are, will be an alright buy for someone who wants some fun. there was just a few things i didnt like. if he wants the $15,000 for the car id suggest cleaning the engine bay n spraying the rocker.

thats interesting as im yet to see a cheaper r32 with an rb25. when you take a 10,000 r32 and put in a 5,000 r33 engine and g box plus the few thousand worth of engine mods than 15,000 doesnt sound to bat to me especialy when it is here in tassy with fresh rego and new tyres.

oh and im pretty sure the wheels are the same just the rears have dish.

if you want any specs of what it does have than feel free to ask me.

i actually asked around about the car and heard a few things and yeah it costs money to do the conversion but if you look at how much the car still needs spent on it is it worth it.

you are going to get that with any car you buy. lots of things to tidy up and change to suit you. like has been said befor the value for money realy is there and it doesnt cost much to tidy things up once you have a car compared to starting from scatch.

the engine has 85,000kms on it the chassis has 185,000 on it all the things are minor that need doing yes but changing most of the bushes and cleaning stuff up does cost money, im not saying its a bad car unless what ive been told is true but i wouldnt pay that much for the car and i did see it when it was for sale in Vic so i knoe how much they were asking for it, i also dont like the fact that it uses the microtech which has no afm but thats my personal oppinion, thats all i have to say on the car n i wish him luck with the sale

well in 2 years time he'll have some fun then. plenty of time for mates to drive it. thats all right though long as hes happy it all comes down to personal oppinion and he has plenty of time to work on the car now anyway. even if he has problems its still a skyline and not a crappy (insert car make of your choice)

    • Let's face it. 90s turbo 6 with 80s tech in it is not going to be the thing that runs as clean as a whistle.
    • No. See below. No. In the specific case of Enthusiast, the wording in the PDS says, explicitly, " We will not pay any claim on a Vehicle with any Modifications not agreed by us and not listed in the Schedule. This includes any Modifications or the fitting of a device that contravenes the requirements of the Australian Design Rules [ADRs] or where allowed, the Australian Vehicle Standards Rules [AVSR]." The 2nd paragraph needs to be read in a different tone of voice from the 1st. The two concepts are connected, but they are two different concepts. The 1st says your mods must be listed and agreed with us. The 2nd effectively says "we won't pay if any mods are not legal". The way that it has been written in more general insurances for a long time has been that if the mod contributes to the accident then you're shit out of luck, but if the mod didn't contribute, then you'll probably get away with it. With "probably" being a very flexible term, and being an insurance company, better left untested than hoped on!
    • I'm not surprised, I favour a bit of a richer tune which for sure isn't helping the emission numbers.
    • Overboosting is more likely a function of whatever boost controller you are using than the actuator. "Overboosting" is a feature of cheap boost tee type control. If you don't want to see peaks of overboost, you have to set it to not produce them. And that then means you don't run as much boost as you might like elsewhere. That's just life. Electronic boost controllers can generally be set to do a much better job of managing the peak boost.
    • Had a good chuckle because it is listing THC g/km. Though it is not tetrahydrocannabinol but total hydrocarbons. Interesting how the numbers seem so much worse compared to Greg's big V8.
