You know you drive a Skyline when:

You drive past the Porsche dealer and everyone stares out the window at you

You take your mum down the street, and even tho your doing the speed limit, it still scares the s$%t out of her

You see a $300k Ferarri etc and go Pffft, shitbox

When you cruise down a main street looking at the hundreds of cars passing by and think that you dont desire a single one of them unless you see another Skyline that is more modded than yours.

When you cruise around knowing that you own something unique and built for performance from the ground up not something made special with some add-ons and a name change.

When your skyline is your desktop background and your eyes hurt starin at it for too long

When you have already bought parts for your skyline before you have even bought it and you continuosly take it out of its box and put it back in

When your reading an SAU topic that is 30 pages long and you keep saying to yourself "just 1 more page" and your up til 3 am by the time you've finished reading it

When you used to work at a supermarket being a trolley boy and making a drifting course and mastering it thinkin your kingdick.(hahaha so guilty!!!)

When you run out of money for mods you start turning your room upside down looking for things to sell

^^GUILTY WITH EVERYTHING I JUST SAID^^

when you're driving down napean highway watching an ignition dvd and hear a loud(ish noise) and only then realize a porsche boxter was trying to race you... aparently.... :)

you know you drive a skyline when your up all night reading this thread and you have an exam in the morning but it doesnt really bother you because afew hundred people out there have typed your daily life and you just have to read them all

.. when you take off from the lights and start getting worried cause you can hear some weird tinny whining over reving nosie, so you let off the accelerator to check where it could be coming from just to realise its the hyundia/lancer driver next to you trying to keep up

Haha, so true!!

-When someone overtakes you, you subconsciously accelerate

-you find yourself abusing other car like little ricers saying how you'd smash that in a race, only to find out at the traffic lights it driven by an old man...

-you drive your g/f's busted ass civic and as the revs go up you subconsciously get ready for it to come on boost, but it just doesnt happen...

you know you drive a skyline when you dont care about petrol prices.

you know you drive a skyline when you're at carlovers on any given night freezing your fingers off to wash it.

you know you drive a skyline when you press stop before your home page loads, and type in 'www.sky'...drop down one, hit enter and click "todays active topics" once SAU loads.

You know you drive a Skyline when:

You are known at your place of work as the one with the flashy car

You hear people complaining about paying $1.70ish for petrol and wish you could only pay that much instead of paying for 98.

You think you can beat anything on the road

You go around mouthing off about the R35 setting the fastest Nordschleif time, even though the only thing it has in common with your car is it's namesake

Deep down you know the 2JZ is a superior engine, yet you don't care

You and your mates provide a good 50% of your local police forces defect quota

There is ALWAYS something on your car you're looking to change/modify next :D

when your walking to your parked car and stop and just stand there looking at it and give your self an assurance that you made the right choice buying a line..

when you drive pas a petrol station and see the advertised price has gone down and get happy, then frown as you remember premium is 10cents more.

when your 18 and vic roads say you cant have a turbo, but you buy a gts anyway just so you can drive a skyline

p.s still munches mates commos

    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
