she was beauty queen? they must have some pretty average chicks down there.......

lol, good to see someone got to the heart of the story! I was thinking the same thing. they must have judged that contest at 4am in a nightclub after 17 beers and it was give everyone a prize day.

This cracks me up, though:

The guy lives in an exclusive part of a pretty exclusive suburb, and we're talking about some stupid bint (who decided to ignore a boycott of a country that decided to stone a woman over having a child out of wedlock, as requested by her prime minister, so she could go giggle and probably tell everyone she wanted "world peace") that parked her brother's Maserati in a construction zone for 2 days, and he has the gall to call these workers "arrogant".

First time I have to disagree with Scathing... if someone moved my car I'd be pissed off, I don't give a f**k who the shit they think they are... the issue with boycotting stuff is irrelevant- it's only mentioned on the news because the plebs like nationalistic overtones (have a look at the media flag BDO thing now..) it saves pollies from having to answer to the people over anything of importance AND it appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Ultimately, I don't even think it's right to arbitrarily charge for parking at arbitrarily chosen locations on a street that as a taxpayer I've already paid for, but that's another story. To have someone else move your car is f**king with your property - in essence it's -almost- stealing the car (for the time you're moving it, without the intent to keep it).

Solution- keep the girl, get the brother to import a couple of bricks for us, repair the masarati and give it to Scathing and me.. we'll take the bricks from South America, drive the car till it dies, pickup some real honies and have some fun...

Hey, I'm not disagreeing that its wrong to go around moving someone's property without the requisite legal authority, and then doing it with due care.

I just think the specific quote about "arrogance" is a big case of the pot describing the hue of the kettle.

As for boycotting, people can choose to make a stand on their beliefs. I got shat on by my Nissan service centre with my car, so I elected to not go to them anymore. In the same way, if you don't support a country stoning of women for having a child out of wedlock (like that's a rare thing in f**k-hungry Africa) then why add to that country's tourism revenue?

I'd be appalled enough at any Westerner doing it, let alone a western woman.

I won't go into it anymore since its off-topic. Anyway......I still want that engine. I could find something to install a 3.2L twin turbo V8 into.
