Yeah I was a bit dissapointed that I had travelled so far for such a small turnout (Was good to catch up with those that did attend)... but at least there was just enough to hold the meeting... would have been super pissed then!

Hopefully we can get a few more at the next normal meeting on the 1st of June 2003 at approximatly 1pm at the same venue!

Re: small turnout....

well what do you expect when you have a venue as far away from public transport thus excluding some members.!!!

next time please consider other members and have the common sense to hold the AGM at a venue easily accesible to all. ( eg: Strathfield or somewhere similar)

Just remember...not everyone lives on the Northern Bitches.

Just join SAU, turn up to the AGM and get given a position on the committee. :D

yeah Dino, just having a dig mate.

Just seems a bit silly to have the venue in a remote part of Sydney then bitch about so few people turning up.

Doesnt worry people like me and you cause we live so close, but a suggestion would be to hold the meetings in a centralised location.

Or we could change the name of the club to Skylines Northern Beaches.

keep up the great work...and dont forget to keep looking after yourselves. :)

ok so next time when nobody else has organised a meeting place and there's 3 days to go I'll drive to (what is regarded as the geographical centre of Sydney these days?) Bankstown? Parramatta? and scout around for a meeting place that suits everyone and we'll have it at a time that suits everyone and everyone will turn up because they won't have anything else on and there will be no excuses.

No, considering over 3 weeks notice was given I don't think it was a "silly" location to hold the meeting. Granted the location was only finalised at the last minute.

Remote? It's on one of the major arterial roads and we are a car club...

Having met and chatted to you a few times akira I'm surprised at your attitude, even taking digging into account...

I just think the shitty cold weather and short lead time didnt help the cause. As Dino said, the venue is piss easy to get to and a great spot to have it. George, Majanal, Ndr and Christian arent living on the northshore and they turned up so you could hardly call it the Northshore skylines club. Location had nothing to do with it but I think youll find thats where alot of the active members reside meaning people willing to put time into the club ie Carlo, Dino and the like.

I found out that morning through Dan what the venue was.

May I suggest that with something as important as the AGM that an email with details to paid up members may have been appropriate, not all of us have the inclination to visit the forums everyday and read through all the crap that is posted.

Hey guys,

Lets use all this as constructive feedback, its your club so your free to have your input. Just try and be polite, leave the sarcasm at the door as it can be very upsetting for those who have put alot of effort and time into this club and its continued operation.

The newsletter will be up and running soon, and will be a means to get all this news out to people.

As for location, hell as a club we have driven to gosford in the middle of the night to get pizza.. Surely driving to one place a little north of the city is no big deal for something as important as a AGM.

I think at the next Members meeting on the 1st of June we should set a date for the next AGM. That will give us plenty of time to look into where and at what time we should hold the meeting.

Granted that it was late notice this time... but no one seemed to be organising anything so Dino (who lives on the north side of town) organised a venue.

I also think that it is a good Idea that an Email be sent out to remind all those Financial Members of events as important as this. Tis not a dificult task to send a group email.

We must remember that there are now a diverse range of members and as was brought up at the meeting we are heading towards having members that are not just Skyline owners... but Skyline enthusiast's and you don't need to be an owner of any sort of vehical to be a Skyline enthusiast.

This is just some thoughts I have had just now (very unusual as most of you know), I am not having a stab/poke/dig or any sort to a go at anyone... I just think that these things need to be looked at for future. Lets look at this one as a test lap... and do it better next lap!
