I called them after saying I saw their info on here.... wowers! I was most impressed by the friendly dude on the phone.

Props to him! Most pleasant phone call lately! I call suppliers for work.. so I wasn't use to it. He was even making suggestions of which tires were suitable and that the bigger size I wanted was the same price and the smaller ones! I was like... wwwoooottt!!!

They are good guys

See Mick, he'll take care of you. let him know you got his details from the Skyline forum.

One thing - they don't alway have loads of stock - depends when they get shipments in.

I've seen the shed full of tyres, but they didn't have many matching pairs.

good luck!

Well i drive 1 hour from the westernsuburbs to clontarfe.

Called first told the guy id be there in a hour will meet up at the shop (on saturday) Get to shop person not there. Try calling mobide 5 times no answer wait for 2 hours no one turns up.

In my books that is unforgivable. IF YOUR NOT GOING TO BE THERE JUST SAY U ARE NOT INSTEAD OF LYING AND NOT TURNING UP!

I am veyr dissappointed and will never have a good thing to say about them.

I got seond hand tyre from this place

Second Hand Tyre King The

8 Rowland St SLACKS CREEK QLD 4127

255/40 R17 Pirelli P Zero (nearly 90%) almost brand new mind you...for 80 bucks a tyre.....but need to call up and wait about 1 week, then you get a good deal......

wow, I must have struck it lucky.

I've got tyres from there 3 times now (for different cars).

Once I visited and there wasn't much to stock, so I waited a few weeks until their next shipment. These guys wholesale to other tyre shops. They can get 'cleaned out' quickly as the tyre shops buy in bulk. The better tyres obviously going first.

If you don't like what you see, don't buy!

Getting the right tyre with a good amount of tread, I think the prices are great - WAY better that new tyre of the same size/brand.

I've mainly spoken to Mick, but I believe John is the owner - can't comment on his dealings

After the comments, I will be more careful!

Hope you both get things sorted!

Thanks for the recommendation in the first place pear, it was just my bad luck and akward timing i guess.

If he had no intention of turning up he should have jsust said so or at least had the courtesy to answer his phone and give me a bullship story. But any ways i decided i will try and get interest free on some dished apec wheels &tyre package. If that doesnt happen ill try the place at slacks creek and maybe Tyres internation again as a absolute last choice.

Cheers guys.

I have been to Treads International and they sold me defective tyres and refuse to give a refund

Defective how???

Not questioning you Lee just wondering what was wrong with them so I can look out in future...

I mean all i look at is how much tread depth is left and that the side walls are not weak and floppy...

aren't you just asking for trouble running second hand tyres?

you might aswell get re-treads

if you get great brand tyres with about 70 above tread...how could it be bad ??....at 1/5 the cost !!!..

you got to wait till the right tyre come along how ever :P

Yep tires with about70% tread for about$50-$70 bucks as apposed to new tires for $200+ . I get more use for money value out of second hand and normally if i go second hand i get a higer performance tyre that i could have afforded new any ways.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
