I've been on the vplates.com website and i finally figured out some plates i like. They are mixed plates with a number 3 replacing an E. Anyway for some reason when i go mixed plates i can't go slimline. Does anyone know whats the go with this? I don't wana have to cut $500 plates up to fit.

Also are there any other sites that do it?

yeah i was wondering the same thing about not being able to choose slimline for mixed plates.

i've got the perfect plates in mind but i'll only get em if i buy another r33 (r33 related) and got spare cash. otherwise they are pretty much a waste of money.

and why do they cost $495 these days? wasn't it like 300bux or somethin :(

Just got a call back from vicroads (emailed them other day)

Turns out there speeding cameras have a problem with identifying the smaller numbers on the slimlined plates or something.. Which doesn't make too much sense to me as u can get other slimlined plate designs with numbers on them. Also turns out u cant trim ur plates , as it's defacing them or some crap.. Guess that means i'll get defected for wanting my plates to fit properly, balls

The font on the mixed plates is different to the font on normal plates....thats why the cameras would have trouble with the slimline mixed, but not normal

i'd say its 0 tolerance...just a matter of how long before a cop decides to do you for it...

Why not take the time to make it fit without hacking it up? Standard plates don't fit on the front of a series 2 R33...but mine are on there, no cutting, no bending. its not hard.

you CANNOT trim or cut plates in anyway. BUT, theres nothing written down (as far as i know so dont hold me to it) about bending the plates to fit. i have never seen a 32 with straight plates on the back. they just wont fit
