Hey guys,

Im just after some help with my fuel pressure problem. I have an ajustable FPR installed on my R33 but im think is may be installed incorrectly. When the car is at idle the fuel pressure sits at 50psi, with light throttle (say 1200rpm) it jumps up to 85-90psi and then no further increase when on boost. This doesnt seem normal as my understanding is that idle pressure should be about 40psi and then increase to about 50psi with 10psi of boost. I have tried ajusting the reg as far as possible with no change in pressure. The only things i thought may be the problem are incorrect fuel line connections or faulty FPR. My FPR has a fuel line comming from the front of the fuel rail into the side of the reg then a hose comming out the bottom to the return pipe (see photo). If this correct or is my FPR faulty? Any help would be great.

Cheers

JONO

have you tried another guage?

around 38psi is std, and depending on the FPR on how much fuel pressure increase per PSI of boost.

shouldnt increase fuel pressure without positive pressure from boost.

I might try another guage to see if there is any difference. A faulty guage should still show a consistrent reading during negative boost, mine is reading 50psi at 800rpm and then around 85psi at 1000rpm with very light throttle. I think there must have to be something wrong with the reg for there to be any change fuel pressure during neg boost.

Problem was faulty fuel pressure regulator. I put in a stock regulator and car runs perfectly now, no more clouds of black smoke on acceleration, no fuel smell and no gurgling or backfire on deceleration.
