i had a bit of trouble today where i accidentally locked my keys in the boot (r32 gts-t) and soon realised that the drivers side release was not working. big pain in the ass as i had to pull out the back seat, parcel shelf and one of my speakers to stick my hand through to pull the keys back out.... not recomended!!!

anyway, have looked at the release and it is in the right position ie. not locked so only the key will open it. i think the latch position is down... and the boot still wont open.

does anyone know how to fix this problem or even what to look for???

Cheers in advance

open your boot. there is a little metal arm that can be adjusted up or down on the catcher. that is what you need to play with. the boot release "pin" sometimes pushes down on it.

so just adjust one of those by a few millimeters and should be ok. when i say adjust, move it left or right, and thats done by loosening some screws.
