but I thought I'd post here to see what people thought.

I've been gradually having parts arrive since Xmas for this kit for my car and it finally got fitted this week, although they've left some bits that they should have done, like painting some of the lower lip the same colour as the bumper so it was the same height around the car.

Anyhow here's some pics, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. I'm struggling to get used to it myself, but I've only had a few hours.

I would if the ride wasn't so rough ..............this car has a tendancy to make 18's look small.

It's actually facing downhill a little too which makes the back sit up a bit too.

Glad you like, I didn't want to go over the top, just nice and quiet if there is such a thing with a VSPEC II ! :P

Should look better once it's really finished.

It's going to get the last bit sprayed and it's getting new turbo's, wastegates and a new ATS twin plate carbon clutch so I'm going to be a happy little camper before the end of the week !

Then it's up to Auckland for the 2003 NZ AutoSalon.

Thanks Dave, that was the plan all along, it's just the paint shop forgot !

Don't know how as I'm so fussy I was in and out sooooo much before I took the car to them to make sure it was all understood and they still forgot !! :P

That's alright it will be sorted soon and I can't wait. Each time I look at the pics I like it more :D

Honestly? It's..... okay.

Stock R34 wheels look the best IMHO, and the standard bodykit looks great... If I had that car, I would have kept the standard look of the car, with some coilovers to drop the height a little.

I am looking at the ATS Carbon twin plate also, but I don't know much about it... Could you please confirm that it lasts almost 3 times longer than organic/cermaic plate twin plate clutches? Also a review on how it feels on engagement would be great too...

Thanks in advance,

Andrew.

It must be a personal preference thing, cos the car didn't even travel 1km on the original wheels. They came off the car as soon as it arrived from Japan.

I just can't stand them...........

It's hard for the photo's to give you a good idea of what the car looks like in the flesh. It does look alot more aggressive in the flesh. I didn't want to go to over the top with the kit, just something different from factory.

I am also coming to the conclusion that maybe I need to get some GT1's or some other deeper dish, chunkier wheels, but it's just the cost, I've spent more than I wanted on this and the new clutch. Suspension is also on the shopping list. It has a blitz kit on it now, but not as adjustable as the Ztune or S Tune I'd like to get.

Merli, I'll let you know about the clutch. ATS say that it will definitly last longer than the equivilent metal clutch. I've gone for the heavier 1350KG pressure plate which should be OK for 900HP, as the long term plan with my new engine is 600-700 but with lots of torque and drivability for circuit work.

Pedal pressure with the heavier plate is 4KG heavier than stock, their twin with the 1050KG pressure plate apparently has the same pressure as the stock single and just as easy to drive.

hooray!! congrats on the kit fraser!! now i don't have to kept constantly asking you about what the story with the kit is :D. I keep checking SDU from time to time, to see if u started a thread there, but haven't been over there in a couple of days.

Kit looks great, is it the Nismo one? i'm thinking it is, bcos of the skirts and rear bar... u lost ur VSpec II sticker??

Anyways, yeah, congrats again, car already looked incredible, now even more so..

cheers

BCSO ? What's that ?

It's Nismo side and rear skirts with Mines vents and other parts for the front bumper. Also Nissan oil cooler finisher kit gives the vents on the side of the bumper.

The rear bumper got resprayed as some silly tart rear ended me late last year and so I've got a new sticker to replace it but that's going on this week too when they finish the rest of the spraying.

I think you'll find it better in the flesh.

dude, that's PHAT ass.

that looks so sweet you gotta be happy with that.

The ass does need to come down heaps though i think and the front a bit mroe too (not that there is much room left for ya to play with)

but bigger rims are a MUST

You can't put different size wheels on front and rear as the ATTESA get's freaked out if the rolling circumfrance between front and rear isn't spot on.

I've been in a car with slightly different wheels front and rear and if you hold the car as it's not quite producing boost but just about the .0 bar level the car surges back and forward as ATTESA is trying to figure things out. It feels very odd and upsets the car no end, not safe.

The wheels tend to look small in pics and from certain angles and the rear suspension looks higher than it is as the pics don't show it, but it's on a slant towards the road that made it sit up at the rear.

There's bugger all movement in the front for 2 reasons, 1 is that any lower and it'll be riding on the bump stops and the driveshafts are about as far as I want to go regarding angle, also the legal limit to have the car off the ground is 100mm, at the front it's not far off that now.

The rear is a different story, but I plan on getting some ZTune adjustable suspension soon once my pocket's recovered from this shock :O

don't get me wrong, i think it's friggen incredible... everyone know's about canman's car, even all the way over here! :P I *meant* "bcos of the skirts and the rear bar..."

wasn't using some crazy acronym...

Ah yes... the Mines vents, you got those first didn't ya.... then had to wait for the rest??.. Mate, can't fault that kit at all, brilliant.

Cheers,

chinny.

    • Interesting.  Great info. thank you.  Give a few days to get that name plate.  I have a busy life most weeks.  I will be in touch.
    • Strange your posting about this being an issue. Move the harness or change your wheels or run more camber etc. Have the thing not touch the thing so it doesn't destroy the thing.  Short answer, no. Slightly longer answer, the factory fuel gauge is measuring resistance. You need to wire in the FPG fuel level sender into the original factory fuel level sender wiring.  I drew you a picture to explain this one The factory strainer is quite long, reaching down into the bottom of the tank. Safe bet your aftermarket fuel pump has a little baby sized strainer that probably doesn't even point down towards the bottom of the thank.  Solution, move the pump lower down in the tank, or fit a longer strainer, or do both. I did both, I've run my tank down to 5L remaining and the car still drove fine.
    • S2/3 GT-R is the same as S2 GTS-t The SRS airbags module in under the centre console. The S1/S1.5 GTS-t and S1 GT-R had the module built into the steering wheel. FWIW, I have a S3 GT-R wheel in my S2 GTS-t shit box. Same airbag plug, airbag light goes on then off, meaning all systems are go. S3 GT-R has red stitching, that's about it.
    • Dumb question, but why would it matter if the wheel came off a car with hicas or not?
    • Hey to anyone that reads this, long time lurker first time posting, sorry if it’s been answered before but I’ve been looking for nearly a year now for answers. ive got a 25det neo in an r32 that works awesome when it works (made 500whp on 21psi) but works 45% of the time, 1st issue there’s a harness that runs under the passengers side front fender that my tire keeps rubbing through and one wire seems to power the fuel pump even though I’ve done the relay “mod” some people like to call it, and when it does rub through it kills the car, yes next time I’m with the car I want to take the fender off and try tuck the harness well out of the way but I’d also like to try and by pass this mysterious wire as well lol, also wouldn’t mind getting power from the alternator as I’ve read it supplies the pump with 13v ? But no idea where to run the power wire too. 2nd issue, when replacing my fuel pump and fuel hanger I managed to break the factory fuel level sender leaving me with no fuel gauge, I’d like to buy the fpg fuel level sender for r32/s13 but the plug it comes with confuses me, I’ve got a detschwerks x1 fuel hanger which has light + pump - level + pump + and a ground, I’m no auto sparky but I’m wondering if I can cut the plug off the fuel level sender and wire the negative to the pump negative and wire the positive to the level positive to get a fuel gauge back ?🥴 3rd and final issue, the reason I want a fuel gauge is because whenever it’s below half a tank, it fuel starves like crazy and runs like a bag of shit even without doing a pull or sloshing the fuel round in the tank, I’d also like to fix this but have no idea what’s causing it, I’ve got a dw420 and a dead head fuel setup meaning the fuel is regulated before it gets to the engine, my only theory is that the return line is to close to the pickup on the pump and when it’s at half a tank the return line is causing the pump to cavitate enough to cause fuel pressure issues, that or the pump isn’t low enough in the tank which I would find strange considering I can’t find a single thing online about it, also if ya wondering how I figured out it happens at half a tank without a fuel gauge, I waited until it started happening and went and filled up and the car took exactly 30 litres every time I tested it, if ya managed to read through this mess I appreciate that and any recommendations , cheers
