The track would still be the same overall length whether you take the 1.6m off of the beginning, or at the end

therefore the cars are travelling the same distance overall

and if you cross the line at 102mph, 1.6m is seriously insignificant

only interval times will be different, but total ET will be pretty much on spot, apart from being 0.015s out or whatever was worked out

Psiko,

What i dont think you guys are getting with what steve says is the track is 401.6 metres inestead of 400 metres. FOR EXAMPLE ....

And your 60ft is 65 ft so higher time. It is something i would like more info on.

I have heard drag racers who are practicing on street nights complaing as it makes it hard for them to compare.

I'd like to know for 100 % that it is 1.6 metres longer on street nights. If it is, its a bit of a rip i think, really not taking some of the street cars seriously.

Butters: no I understand perfectly

the track may be that bit longer (402.336m + 1.6m), but that 1.6m could be taken from the beginning of the track, or from the end of the track; but wherever it is, it's going to make a 0.0x second difference to your 1/4 mile time

and like I said (and yourself), the only real differences are the 60' times etc

PSIKO,

I think your not taking street drags seriously then. If your sitting on a 13.02 .... How much is that 1.6 metres going to be F###ing you of ......

Ask Lag Wagon ... He's been there , ran a string of 13.0's ... 1.6 metres would have brought his time in the 12's.

I dont want to get into a big arguement about it. I was more interested in finding out whether the 1.6 metres extra is a FACT !

So can we agree to disagree Psiko ?

dude,

why do u keep goin on about it?

I'm not trying to start a fight, I merely said that it doesn't make a huge impact on your 1/4 ... as I've read numerous times before on diff forums

drive at 170odd kph and look out your window

how bloody long do you think it takes you to go 1.6m??

the amount of ppl that are sitting on 13.02 second 1/4 miles wasn't worth me saying that it'll make a diff for them

tell them to take a dump before they do the 1/4 next time and they'll get the 12's

jesus

track that time must ad up Ask Peter pike or just bash me up or sumin as this is pointless. I can tell my customers their time cards

are wrong when testing on the long track even when fully prepped.

that'll be because it's not a 60' time, its a 65.25' time

nah, because the 65.25' time should be moved back to make it 60' ... and therefore you'd have an extra 1.6m at the end of the track (where upon you'd be travelling at ~170kph)

like I said, the track length is the same whether the 1.6m is taken from the start, or from the end

it's still a 1/4 mile

it'll only affect interval times, and the total ET by a mere fraction
