Enjoy!!!

I will sit on the couch wishing my car was tuned last week...

As it turns out it wont be getting tuned tomorrow either as explained in the dyno day thread...

But anyways thats my luck, remember to take your cameras as it will be a case of picsorban when you get back...

If any of ya was wonderin what happen to me? well i waved ya all past. then well my car just shut off. no power watsoever. and no service on my voda fone. and my bro was motion sick. Although only took us 15 mins to work out. the battery terminal had jumped off? wtf?

Didnt think i could catch back up to yaz. So then i turned around and went back thru it all just for good measure,

Hope everyone made it safely.

Cheers for a great run. Will do it again! just need better breaks. Really does hammer ur breaks if u got stock bendix pads on. They just heat up way too much, Especially on the down hill parts. :P

interesting run....

highlight of the night for me would be being followed up Mt Mee for about 15km by a cop 4wd, sitting right on my arse, waiting for me to do something wrong.... after a while he slowed right down and dissapeared....

then got followed again after dropping Col off

then got pulled over by the RBT on the highway (breath test, nothing more)

much police activity!

If one thing going to be diferent...Just need better breaks.....their were times that i just had no brakes at all...

got to fix my rear bumper after having being hit from behind on the way to the mountain!!!..it was not as bad as i hoped though...but the R33 that hit me might need a new intercooler and front bar...

I will upload pics tommorow..

While we were waiting at the samford road turnoff for the 6 or so cars that got lost...

Old Lady - "are you racing? Theres like 60 cops coming up behind us RIGHT NOW if your racing."

Me - "I just came up from that way, I didnt see any cops. I also have friends back there and they havnt rang me."

"THERES STILL COPS COMMING AND WE HAVE PEOPLE IN THE BUSHES WITH CAMERAS (no shit, she said, she has people in the bushes) AND WE HAD A COMMUNITY MEETING"

"Kay."

Classic.

So a few hickups. A few people got lost, it got seperated a few times, that unfortunate incident with the orange light and the two 33's having man-love. The biggest non-event of the night? When the cop car rocked up next to me after we pulled over to wait to regroup for heading to mt mee. He had a quick chat to me then toodled off after some bright spark thought it would impress the girls accross the road if he did a maaaad skid. Right infront of the police shop. Whoops. In the mean time however some other bright spark lost his nuts and hooked it and headed back the way we came after seing the xmas lights, and half the damn cruise followed him.... Most of them came back, but I think we lost one or two.

Mt Mee was my favourite of the runs by far. It was fresh and intresting to me, i hadnt been up there much before. The intake temps were good and thoes 100-km/h speed limits were gold. Mt Nebo is my old stomping ground and I was sitting right on the speed limit everywhere I went on it while I was setting the pace.

All in all for 80% of the cars and cruisers the night went off without too much of a hitch. There was a bit of a wait while we waited for thoes who miss the samford turnoff to come back from summerset dam, but other then that everyone seemed to have fun. I sure enjoyed it.

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
