Dropped by my local Jaycar store and had a look in their catalouge and found a kit which will solve all our problems :pwned:

-----------------------------

Car Air Conditioner Controller Kit

This kit stops the air conditioner in your car from taking engine power under acceleration. It will allow the compressor to run with low throttle even when the cabin temperature setting has been reached and will automatically switch the compressor off at idle. it also features an override switch and an LED function indicator. Kit supplied with PCB with overla and all electronic components.

Recommended box UB3 HB-6013

$39.95

Cat. KC-5437

-----------------------------

Someone buy it and install it :O

Not an entirely bad idea...

I think i'd rather have mine turn off when i'm on throttle but below 1500rpm. Every time it's on and I take off from the lights there is so much horrible lag that you really need to ride the clutch a bit to be smooth. On at idle though... it'd suck sitting in traffic sweating to death!

As far as i knew the standard computer turns it off on WOT anyway, atleast the Z32s do, guessing the RB powered cars would be the same.

If you need to turn it off, run more boost because your car musn't have any balls to begin with.

Solution: I perscribe a case of harden the fark up and get rid of your AC totally, followed by using your power window button and harness the wonderful noew power of wind to cool you down :(

werd!

i sometimes use my A/C and it doesnt give me any lag.. ?

ive never had a problem with my A/C and lag. As for you non-air con guys, ill gladly take a few camp jokes and continue to sit in comfort on those 30+ days without sweating into my expensively retrimmed leather pews, whilst i have a chuckle at all the guys with the windows down trying to look like they arent hot, obvious to me that if they had a functional air-con, they would use it! :O

Part of the reason why i own a skyline is that it does everything, comfort on hot days included. Getting rid of the aircon on purpose, to me is like ditching the power steering! why would you?
