How much was yours Russ? PMme if you want..

I wonder what the price difference is between the one Justin got and Russ' one...

i run a one piece carbon tailshaft, and it is almost half the weight and we spin it to 8200 rpm also its rated to 1500 hp.

cheers russ

p.s we also dont have problems anymore with driveline shudder from the centerbearing on hard launches with the carbon one piece shaft.

dave, if you don't want to splash out on the carbon shaft get one of johnny's one piece chro-mo shafts. still around half the weight of stock, and one piece but like 1/3 the price of the carbon job.

General rule of thumb for removal of rotating mass is for every 10kg of rotating mass you take out has the equivalent effect of taking 100kg out of the car.

that's a huge generalisation. rotating mass has much more inertia if it is far away from the axis of rotation. most of a tailshaft's mass is an inch or two away from the rotational axis, so lightening will have minimal effect.

most of a wheel's rotating mass is several inches from the axis, so lightened wheels would make a bigger difference.

But the tailshaft spins a lot faster than the wheels.

I've got it!!! It came last week. I got pulled over by customs and had to pay $500+ on tax on top of the shaft + shipping

Anyways, busy busy won't be going on the car for a while I will post again once it's getting installed, with pics of-course :P
