I've got a Corolla Sportivo Turbo (7A-FTE), they're pumping out 115kW at the fronts. Heaps of fun in a straight line, but the understeer can kill the experience a bit. Also has a big problem with torque steering, but as said before, that just keeps it interesting. They're factory FMIC too, and i have no doubt it'll respond well to a few basic tricks. I'ts quicker off the lights than my Stagea, but then runs out of puff in the high rev range and the torquier RB25DET picks up.

I think even if you wacked on a turbo back performance exhaust on the Mazda3 MPS you would get pretty good gains.

I'm pretty sure the suspension could also be tweaked to get better handling over stock too.

I reckon they'd do really good in a tarmac rally event like Targa Tas.

motor magazine did a comparison between the xr5 and the astra and i think the astra may have won. i have the mag somewhere, i will have to drag it out. in the performance figures they stuffed up and put the figures from a bmw and a mercedes that they also tested in the same magazine.

i prefer the looks of the xr5 to any of the others.
