just finished installing new stereo in my r34 gtt, all went well except went for a drive last night and dash lights and centre console lights don't work as well as rear lights ( brake lights still working as well as headlights ) been trying to find problem all day, checked tail light fuse and was blown put new in blown to, was thinking that dash and tail lights use same fuse? and don't know why it keeps blowing new fuse. help please!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like the illumination wire might be grounding out, probably at thr back of the stereo when you installed deck a green/orange wire I think but if your stereo doesn't have an illumination wire then that wire should be insulated and not used (it is not an earth wire) earth you should only get from vehicle chassis

it's all good now just connected the new ground wire to the old one which was a big no no , simply disconnected them and grounded from new head unit directly to chassis.

I also answered my own question and for anyone else who wants to know that in an r34 ( maybe all cars )

the dash lights are on the same fuse as the tail lights.

Yes this is usually the illumination circuit... in my experience anyway
