I run BCPR6E NGK's.

They are gapped to .8mm and are the V-groove type.

The V-groove is supposed to improve combustion at lean afr's, unsure if its a gimik or not. :(

I grabbed mine from motortraders, ~$16 for 6.

I've always ran these, never had issues with fouling or missing, the longest I've had a set in for was ~30,000km's. They were still fine, I've had my current set in for ~20,000km's, I will replace them before the next tune.

So much to read and learn in this thread!!!

already read the guide but im sure most of my questions are answered already in here ...

one i do want to know soon though is :

is anyone running GTR rods in the RB30? got a set here and gonna start building one for later down the track .. so just wondering if anyone has them and if they would be better than the std. rb30 rods????

They would be stronger, but they are 31 mm too short.

:) cheers

i havent looked into the differences in the rods etc as yet but i guess you just solved that issue for me!

I've had a look for aftermarket rods .. only see I-beam rods .. anyone found H-Beam rods for the RB30?

still alot of reading for me to do til i catch up with everything!

I have used REV's and they sh1t all over eagles, honestly dont even bother with an eagle or any other six inch chev rod that is machined to suit they are never as good as a purposely produced item. REVs are really good value for money and I havent had a problem yet, car has produced in excess of 580hp at the wheels, drives around normally with 500hp at the treads and has done 5000ks of hard service and are fine. Another rb30 a friend has with them through a main bearing and upon inspection of all the rods they were still well within factory specs this car has similar hp figures to the previous. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get a good rod at the middle to lower price range, as they measure just as good as some of the more expensive rods I have delt with!!!
