what I want to know is who in their right mind splits 8 grams of pot into 15 farken bags, and 1.5g coke into 5 bags! it's like 1 spec per bag. I also would love to know how they can pin 7 guys over 1 guy buying drugs for his mate? nuts.

anyway, I reckon if I was an english teacher for nova I'd be on drugs too...lol.

yeah but sadly 25 man a month wont buy you much coke and pot in tokyo! actually maybe these guys should be asking the question: how did someone working at nova afford to waste that much money on coke and smoke? maybe he's a dealer...

Its actually about 3 points per bag on the coke side of things which is enough for a few hits if your a noob and 8 grams of weed into 15 bags is enough to have a few cones, wind down and go to sleep after you've had your coke.

Or so I've heard/read :woot:

smartarse, I guessed as much. if you were pinned for the coke and pot it would have been 2 weeks for sure, not 10 hours. :)

that sucks that they are cracking down that hard on drifting in osaka. I went out to Tsukuba mountain and a few industrial areas around there and the cops were just doing the usual, show up, chase out, hang around for 30 mins then disapear. they even chased us out of a convenience store, but still no-one got booked.

but still no-one got booked.

Well be careful in a couple of months if you come back here!!!

I got booked last week for July 8th 2006!!!

The best thing about this is that when I say "I don't remember, I really don't!

But I will definitely remember the day I hand over half a million yen! :)

While I would be the last to defend Nova, they have facilitated one of the most interesting 20 months of my life...

From now I will need to get some of the Japan love that akeenan seems to have.

Of all the people on here I would like to meet him the most...

500 000YEN????

what for? Is there some new "drifting fine" ?

I am a member of a violent drift gang apparently, I guess my yakuza boss is meant to pay.

But yes, it is a new law aimed at Drift and Drag "Zoku" (as in Bosozoku)

Whoever wrote the law obviously watched too much Fast and Furious as it is all meant to be an organised contest with drivers battling in a competition (presumably for money and/or respect). They had video of me driving and have video of me walking around my car, unfortunately as a six foot tall white guy with a bright yellow car I sort of stand out, even in the dark.

The funniest bit of the video is when you can see me looking at the car with the camera in it trying to suss it out. Hopefully I can get a copy for my $5,300AUD

i think in this day and age. to work at any big eikaiwa you need to be on drugs, or an alcoholic

i didnt think it mattered where you worked to be an alcoholic! :)

cripes/...

But the question is this and you havent categorically denied it..

Are you a member of an undergorund drift association? Do you have Yak ties? Do you redline your car and blip the godfather tune around suburbia at 3 in the morning?

well?? Do ya? PUNK?!

Nova may have funded some of your fun here mate but the sooner you get outta there and into ALT work..or better.. the better off youll be. ( i happen to work at a university btw )

trust me..i did one year at Gaba ( Pete and i did our induction training together ) and that was enough!!

i ended up suing the company and got 500k out of them..

precisely the same amount youre getting charged for by the looks of it :)

did they actually catch you drifting?? or was it a case of " we know you did it, but we didnt actually see it happen"?

    • My purchase experience was no where near as glorious as yours but still a significant moment in my life! Yeah that's a bit of a dilemma as to whether you bring it back or not!  Obviously a massive waste of time and effort to bring it back if you're only going to move there anyway!
    • To be fair passengers who aren't silly and have been in proper fast cars have often been pretty impressed once you hit 4th gear
    • I suppose that's true. Barring almost any situation, I'll never sell so what the market does is kind of irrelevant to me. It's possible I'd make most of my money back. That spreadsheet I mentioned? Maybe I could make back more than what the car's total costs thus far are, but the parts and all that is possibly a different story... Thanks for reading. It was certainly a good moment and just makes the ties to the car that much stronger. It's exciting that the option will be there to bring it over, however I have some plans with a shop that may end up keeping the car there longer, not sure. Coupled with the fact I want to move there and haven't solidified any path yet. So in a way, it feels like I'm in a limbo state that is uncertain; time will tell.
    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.
