Thats a terrible power curve despite the boost being consistant. I advise you to get an ECU as your next mod without a shadow of a doubt. (Seems the ignition timing is wacko in the top end as the AFRs aren't too wonky)

Oh yea completly agree, its very smooth and power gain is quik compared to my stock reading..

I dont understand tho, not bragging or anythn but lastnite (on private property) got a drag between a Ceffy, VS SS and me..

i could toy around with the SS and i pulld past the ceffy quite easily also..

My S14 on road dusnt seem to be lacking tha performance... it feels like 160rwkw car!?!

Also im not just a dyno queen either... i am after a balance between outright power and response, especially for a road car... 250rwkw at 7,000rpm is nuthn without response...

You guys have one hell of a site here 1st and foremost. I have had an R33 GTS-t in my shop here in the states and I have been reading thru this site a bunch. We mostly do SR stuff at the shop so I thought I would put my two cents in on this post.

To get a curve that looks like yours you have something else going on other than just the ecu. We regularly run S14 SR's up to 12-14psi on all stock bits (maf, 370cc’s,ECU). Our A/F ratios stay in the mid 11's. What kind of spark plug gaps are you running?

I agree that changing out the ECU to something you can tune is huge benefit and throw a set of 550cc's in there and you will make some good power. On my personal S13 I made 330 whp and 280ft/lbs @ 16psi on a S14 SR turbo, 264 cams, AEM EMS, 850cc's and a Greddy plenum. These numbers are from a DynoJet, what can I say it’s the silly Yankee standard.

Yea i had sparkies gapped to .7 i think, i was going to chek them cas i thort that they mite be gapped wrong..

but if they wer gapped wrong i wud expect sum type of misfiring to occur, expecially up top end..????

Everyone's saying here get an ecu BUT what about your stock intercooler? Your sr won't like the hotter intake temps - especially with the stinking hot weather atm. Intercooler kits are so cheap these days. I say intercooler and apexi pfc. 1 degree increase in intake temps = 10 degrees exhaust temp rise - so with intake temps up 40 or 50 degrees over the norm it won't be happy.

Good point on the intercooler. I have pressure-tested stock side mounts and guess what they leak over 10psi 8 out of 10 times. So if he is loosing air all ready accounted for, it will be rich.

We run our plug gaps tight .021" (.53mm), we have only gained power by doing this, never lost.

If you are running a stock side mount it's time to scrap it. The new Greddy M spec stuff is nice, all the piping is identical to the V & R spec. I like it better than the HDI stuff and the price is comparable (in the states at least).

Yea im beggining to think that HEAT plays a big part init... but still really dont explain the low AFR.. except wat OVERCENTER is sayn bout leakage.

I relise that the stokie cooler is really crap, especially for the AUS climate..

I was some reason wanting to see what i cud push at the wheels using the stock cooler, but i guess with such hot weather its near impossible to break my 160rwkw mark with the stok cooler.

      Welcome to the new year, gang! We've ticked over into 2024, so as usual, we're starting the new year with a chill social out at Aqua Golf! So without any ado, here are the details: Date: Saturday 22nd March Location: Aqua Golf - Penrith Panthers Time: 4:00pm Map: http://tinyurl.com/saunsw-aquagolf All you need to do is bring yourselves down to Penrith Panthers to come and say "HI", hang out, and maybe hit a few golf balls at the drive range. Who knows where the night may take us... What we do know is that there are plenty of food options available at the Penrith Panthers complex.       Pre-empting heat management  1. The Kraken manifold will be ceramic coated 2. Just purchased some peel and stick heat shielding stuff from car builders, I'll cover some of the firewall behind the dump and a little on the cam cover, this will be done prior to installation as I have ample room to get where I need to now before that realestate has more bits in the way, I'm also planning to modify the OEM heat shield to go back on, but that won't happen until after installation so I know where to hack it up, I'll also cover it with some some peel and stick to neaten it up after the hacking 3. As the dump is stainless with a flex joint coating isn't really a option, and wrapping isn't recommended for a stainless dump, so once it is installed I'll grab some shielding from car builders to cover the dump, as it has some stand off, it "shouldn't" cause any issues and it "should" just keep the radiant heat away from " melty engine bay stuff" Not for heat management, but I've grabbed some more black crinkle coat to paint all the shiny intake pipes, I'll pick the pipe work up prior to installation and use the paint booth and big oven at work to cure them, I'll then wrap them with some bubble wrap so they stay nice during installation

Yes, that's right... we're heading down to Austi Beach Cafe for a breakfast run through the Royal National Park!       a31 chassis pinout/cluster wiring layout

      YO- have been searching and searching for an a31 chassis plug pinout, or someone who knows which wire is for tach.  ceffy was flooded past dash during a hurricane.  having an electrical gremlin appear. tach is wonky reading consistent with a short, and on occasion the right side of my speedo lighting will flicker just for a second then go back to normal.  if no pinout available does anyone know if the tach harness opens or branches anywhere behind the dash? im suspecting a possible root behind the radio as there are more shorts in that area on the accessory loop.
