G'day the question which i would like to ask is what is everyones opinion on jay car amps, Are they worth paying so much money? and are they of a quality which like Kenwood and fusion and stuff like that...

I have the Jaycar 4x130

Lots of power but the sound quality sucks nuts compared to my Kicker amps.

I am selling the Jaycar soon and getting a larger Kicker to replace it as my front splits sound like ass running off the Jaycar.

Jaycar amps are better used for running subs as sound quality is not as efficient as the better known brands, you should check out Crossfire amps they pump and produce awsum quality sound especially with crossfire splits!

I had a 2 X 150wrms response amp running my splits and they ran fine, but now have amp running my sub and the amp has run fine from the day I installed it. I don't mind them.

They aren't bad for the price you pay. Like anything, the higher up you go in quality the more its going to cost. Cheap affordable power IMO!

i can think of MANY brands of amplifier that are "supposedly" good that i would not even begin to pitch at the new jaycar amps. you really do need to look inside some of these mass-produced amps to realise just how far most big companies will go to increase their profit margins. and its going to get worse unfortunately...

i think the jaycar amps are about as good as they get for the money.... or you could scout around 2nd hand and buy some really nice older "less fashionable" gear really cheap!!! thats what i did! i bought my amps off car audio specific forums etc and despite mine being over 10 years old they're still considered to be pg's best-released amp (zeropoint series) they were worth like $3500ea new but i can assure you that i didn't pay anywhere near that for them! search for any old orion or ppi or phoenix gold... soundstream... great golden oldies... and lets face it who needs a warranty when you can see that you could smash them with a hammer and they wouldn't break!
