Can someone help me please, im running pretty stiff sus (JIC silvers) in my 32 and when I hit any bumps the boot keeps flying open, I just put a new boot cable in cos the old one snapped at the handle but that didnt fix the problem, it stays shut if you lock it from the inside of the latch; also, what does the fuel filler release mount to? I have a feeling mine is broken somewhere, if anyone has a pic of where it secures down that would be a great help too.

Maybe try adjusting your boot latch, the part that is mounted on the body not the boot. It is movable up and down.

The only place the filler cap release mounts to is the small white plastic nut on the inside of the small compartment where the little catch is. I know i was confused when i was fitting mine but thats how it is.

If you keep running those JIC silvers, your boot is not the only thing that will start flying open. They are nasty coilovers for australian roads. I had them in my Silvia before after a few months of fitting those coilovers, the whole car felt like it was gonna fall apart, rattles everywhere, cracks in the bodykit, even my headlight globes keep on blowing because the harsh suspension shattered the filaments!
