Hi, i've been having major hesitstion and holding back problems with my R33 GTS-t i hav ereplaced jus about everything to try and cure it and ihave gone through all the main things that go wrong with them to cause them to either hold back or missfire!

i checked the timeing the otherday and it was out by about 5-10 deg so i tried to adjust it on the cas to move the timeing along and i got it bang on 15deg! the car ran like newand was great i parked it up didnt touch it till the next morning and it was crap again i checked the timing and it was out again!!!!!

i took the cas off and noticed that the rubber o ring around the end of it was broken and was in half so obviously it well off now when i try to adjust the timing it gets to about 10 deg and i move it a little more and it jumps to about 35!!!!! then i have 2 knock it bac and it jumps from about 25 to about -10!!! i cant get it inbetween!!!!!

any ideas on what coudl be causeing this error???

thanks alot!

Be very careful guys.I had similar problem with timing all over the place and performance would change from one minute to the next.Turned out it was the timing belt missing half it`s teeth because the dumb shit mechanic used a mitsubishi belt.

I had mine chaged 10tho kays ago wiht a gates racing one.

ROX best take it to a mechnic could be a numbe rof things from, Fuel pressure, airflow meter, timming.

I go tmy car booke din for a PFC tune and to sort out the CAS issue on the 17th so i will let u know after what the solution was for me. Apparently the cas can go bung and sometimes read 0 or 15 and all over the place. On my PFC the read out ofr timming is fine doesnt seem to move? but i dont know if the PFC actually shows wha tis really going on with timing? does any one know?

i have had this happen on a mates engine before, the CAS had a broken shaft onto the cam, seemed to pull out fine most of the time when i thought it was suspect and checking it, then one day pulled it out and only half came out. split where the roll ping thing joins it. i assume that at revs (got to the point it was doing it at idle) that the timing was jumping around everywhere ... simply replaced it and wammo
