I re-wired my speakers because at the moment I don't have my headunit placed in but I have the speakers sitting there so I thought mite as well use it!

I wired them so they connected into my audio input and it works fine but there is one problem, the volume doesn't go any higher than my PSP is there a way to get a volume controller happening of some sort? Or nothing?

Thanks.

The only other option would be an amplifier... I worked on a 180sx drift car and this guy only had his speakers connected through an amp straight to his Ipod, no head unit... worked well

Yer... your standard headunit has a built-in amplifier... which... amplifies? =-p

So yeah, you'll need some form of amp because the one in the ipod or whatever will be around 1w or whatever it needs to drive earphone-sized speakers. =-]

Cheap option would be JayCar's really low-powered kind of deals. 25 or 50watt. Get a 3.5mm stereo mini jack to 2xRCA cable, and you're set!

ipod -> 3.5mm -> RCA -> Amp -> speaker wire -> speakers
