Service Time - Couple Of Questions..

Hey All..

It's Service time for my friends Skyline(s) ...(32 and 33 GTS-t's) ..

And I thought I post it not just for him.. but for myself

OK, easy questions...

1. What Oil Filter is on these cars? Ie. Part number, brand etc...

2. Whats the Best Spark Plugs?

Any Other general service tips or good parts to use would be good.. We are the sorta people that prefer to do everything possible our selves (just short of rebuilding the b!tch) ... So yea..

oil filter is the same as a vl or aussie r31 skyline z145 I think plugs are the same form the vl etc you should gap them @ .8.

i thought it was z200.. maybe thats the fuel filter :S

anyway - i think ngk plugs are fine... lots of people are using platinums, but the best are iridiums (but they will cost you)

That'd be great mate... that way when we need the stuff we know the part numbers, rather than having the tool behind the counter look tru a book for ages, and STILL give us the wrong part...

on suggestion iz dont go to nissan! ehhe

for the r32:

- oil filter: Z145A

- fuel filter: Z387

- spark plugs: heat range of 6 gapped to 1.1 or 0.8

- don't forget antiboil/antifreeze at a 50:50 ratio

- i don't know what oil is best but i use: penrite 15W60 semi-synthetic. apparently stands up v.good at the high temps produced by a turbo but also thin enough to flow properly.

that's my 2c. hope it helps, HOTR33. i'm sure zdenko has more info to add on top of this... plus i'm not sure if this carries for the rb25 or just teh rb20.

and also service no later than every 5000 km regardless of what anyone says...

you might want to clean the AFM and re-set the ecu while you're at it. it can't hurt anyway.

spark plugs- i used autolite app 3924-11

oil filter- z145a

fuel filter z200

oil.. kmart brand..... just shiting ya.. nah fully synthetic oil.. i use penzoil now.. works sweet as....
