Which Program For Tuning

hi guys this question has probably been answered but i rarely have the time to search through it all.

I'm going to purchase software for tuning power fc but i'm concerned about the kits with the serial connection to the laptop as mine is usb. I know you can buy adaptors, but has anyone or is anyone using them and have they had any problems with the converters and they're communication between the ecu and laptop???

which program would people out there prefer, I know that the datalogit comes in usb but is one better than the other (genuine apexi i would assume to be better). The version of the apexi product is all english is this true as i've heard that its all in jap?

hey mate

I have only used the Apexi version and i have found it to be good to get the job done but we allways wonder what some of those functions are in Japanese.. Would be nice to give the kiwi one a try... (have never been able to get the monitor function working on the software yet)

Also you will find that 70% of the time serial devices dont work properly with usb to serial so you gotta test it out before you buy it or get a old laptop for tuning

If it was me id get the apexi one because i know how to use it really well and its pretty easy to use as well

I use the FC Datalogitsoftware and find it excellant. Can't comment on the APEXI but I guess it would be just as good mate.....

Can the Apexi software log data?

With a wide band input FCLogit is just unbelieveably good ie. fast and consistent AFR, and user friendly.

the fc pro i have in japlish doesnt look like it can recording logs that i can

but it can open logs, so it probaly does, just not obvious where or how

yeah you cant have the wideband input on the apexi stuff that i know of so if you own a decent wide band sensor system them it would be nice to have a look at the Datalogic stuff...

How much are both systems going for these days ?

the poor mans fc is about $500 from nengun.com

datalogit should be around $500 ish from fc-datalogit.co.nz or a reseller

thanks for your input very much appriciated. I'll probably go the datalogit as this was has the input for other sensors and its usb cheers guys.
